He pushed me into the car. I turned and saw Constantine in the back, badly injured. The beta had shifted into his human form, and put on some basketball shorts. He got in the car and turned to look at us.
"Don't think for a second that you will be able to run away. Remember your dear old friend is right there badly injured. Wouldn't want to leave him." I scuffed and paid my attention to Constantine. I went over to check on him. He looked at me.
"Get ready to go to hell, Niovi." He jokingly told me.
"Don't laugh, you'll only hurt yourself more." He nodded his head and laid his head back.
"They won...don't tell me they've got you feeling sentimental?" He questioned me.
I shook my head, "No. Never! They killed me sister, our alpha." I got angry just thinking about it.
"Good. The funniest part of this is that we made it both out of life. I think the universe is telling us something." He hinted.
I nodded, "Don't say that in front of them. Our bond is so strong that they won't ever break it. We grew up together, and will die next to each other." I giggled.
The beta started the car and drove in complete silence. I stared back looking at my family, home, life, and whole world crash. My eyes started to water, and Constantine tried his best to comfort me.
I watched as the beta's mood changed. He coughed, "You will be safe as long as you follow our orders." I looked away from him.
"I will never listen to anyone else. My purpose died when you invaded our pack and killed my Alpha and family." I looked at Constantine who held my hand tight.
"I didn't know you knew combat, Niovi! You should've been a warrior." He smiled at me, and my heart sunk to my stomach.
"Common sense is the only thing that'll keep you from dying. I just want this to be over. I would jump out of this moving vehicle if it weren't for you." I placed my head on his shoulder.
"Good to know. I mean the world to you just as you do to me." We both smiled and playfully joked.
"What did the fishermen tell the fish?" He asked me.
"I don't know." I wasn't good at this.
"...I would say but your presence made me forget." I bit my lip and closed my eyes holding onto this moment.
The car stopped. I sat up and looked out to see where we were. I was not familiar with this place or anyone else's territory.
"What is it, Niovi?" He asked me.
My jaw dropped, "This place is huge!" He tapped me breaking me out of the trance I was in, "Sorry..."
He slowly sat up and groaned at how painfully beaten he was.
I rubbed his shoulders. The door opened.
"We're here! My name is Demir, and I heard your name was Niovi." I looked away from him, clenching my jaw.
I got out of the car and helped Constantine. "Wow. you're badly bruised." He grinned at me.
"I think the scars will be a painful yet beautiful memory." I playfully nudged his shoulder.
"Cut it out. I don't..." I stopped myself before I could say another word.
I heard a car pull up beside us.
'Let's just be on our best friendly behavior so we'll strategize an escape.' I talked to him with only our thoughts to be communication.
I burped and yawned. I turned and saw Constantine staring at me, "A ate. And Verona woke me up super early this morning." I told him.
"Super early? Weren't you like twenty minutes late." He got closer to me, "What do you think they did with the remaining pack members?" He asked me.
I shrugged, "I don't know..." I drifted sadly. The luna. Verona. My friends, my family...
"Did everything go well, Demir?" Alpha Piero asked him.
"Yes, sir. Everything went as planned." He nodded his head before turning his attention to me. He growled at Constantine and picked up my wrist.
I yanked it back, "I do not appreciate this." I looked over at Constantine, "He needs aid. I will not listen until he gets it." He sighed and looked at our closeness.
"What? Is this your little boyfriend?" He jokingly said.
"So what? Would that be an issue?" I mumbled and looked down.
"You're not his!" He nuzzled in my neck. I pulled back.
"Like I said. He needs aid." I stood my ground. He went to go talk to his beta and I turned to Constantine. "We will protect each other. I believe that they're still alive. I just haven't been able to channel them for some reason." I told him.
He nodded his head, "I tried channeling Verona too, and it was nothing but silence. I hope they are. We lost too much we can't lose them." He looked down at the floor and I rubbed his back in comfort.
"He will get the aid, and then you will submit to your new pack." I stared him down.
"Let's go, Constantine. It's not worth the arguing." We walked ahead, "Karma is a bitch..." I muttered under my breath.
"What was that back there?" He asked me.
I looked down at the floor. "Let's just make sure you didn't break anything." I rubbed my temple. We walked inside and were greeted by a nurse.
"I will care for him. I was ordered to tell you to wait here." I looked outside where Piero was and rolled my eyes.
"No. He is all I have for now. I want to make sure you aren't going to poison or hurt him. Knowing your pack's history they'll do both." I wasn't going to let him be alone.
"But the-" I stopped her.
"I don't obey your alpha!" I snapped at her. "My alpha was Cedric and I will never bow down to another." She nodded her head, letting me follow in the room. I sat on the chair, looking at him.
"Alpha Piero wants you..." Constantine looked a bit upset.
I reached for his hand and rubbed it, "You know me. Our pack members got killed because of them I will defy him as long as I'm alive." I spoke to him, reassuring him it was nothing.
"Good. You're too good for him anyway." He smirked at me with the same hungry eyes he has always had.
"After this take a cold shower. You need it." I laughed. We heard the door creek and I removed my hands near him.
I saw Piero, "I gave you simple orders and you couldn't follow them." He walked closer to me. I backed up against the wall. He put his hand over my head, staring me down. "Do I have to ruffle you up to understand?" I shook my head.
"Wow..." I heard Constantine say behind us, Piero turned his head.
I got in front of Constantine, "You got something to say, say it to my face." He snarled.
I tried pushing him back but he didn't move, "Please!" I pleaded with Piero.
"Get out!" He yelled at me. I stayed put.
"Our alpha would never hurt his mate. That just shows that your morals are screwed. I am not beneath you!" I told him, tears already running down my face, "You took everything from me! And you expect me just to adjust by enforcing fear?!" I screamed at him, hitting his chest. "You disgust me. You took my sister's life. That is unforgivable. I will not allow you to hurt my pack member." He grabbed both my wrist.
"Behave." He whispered to me. I lay on the ground, closing my eyes. "I would kill you..." I mumbled before it went dark.
