"Don't worry! There's nothing to be afraid of." He opened the coffee door so I could walk in before him.
"If you say so..." I stood in line with him.
"Take a seat over there." He pointed to the corner.
"Do I have to?" I begged him, my pupils got bigger.
"Those eyes aren't going to work on me this time, sweetie." My jaw dropped.
I heard a growl but it turned into a cough. I looked over at Kaz who shrugged.
"Well, I was hoping it would." I walked over to the corner passing three other people including a man holding a newspaper. I saw his fingers and a ring that looked familiar. I wasn't going to be rude and stare at him so I moved along.
I sat down checking my phone. It was 3 PM. And I already wanted to go home. I looked around and waited till he came back with two coffees.
"Can I even drink coffee?" I asked him. He took his phone out and looked it up.
"Yeah, but it said to limit your drinking. You aren't a coffeeholic are you?" I looked to the side and pretended to think.
"Haven't been for six years...I think we're good." I laughed and looked deeply into his eyes.
"See how nice it is to be out in the open. Not fearing anything or anyone." I played with my sleeve under the table.
"I guess you're right! I should have listened to you sooner." His crinkled eyes and nose. I stared in 'awe'
"What was it that you said three years ago about me not being able to get you to leave the house?" He smiled so brightly and wiggled his eyebrows.
"Don't get ahead of yourself. I chose to do this so I wouldn't need to later on." I leaned forward.
"You want to kiss now?" He asked me.
"No, not yet." I cackled.
He sighed, "Nice..." I turned my attention to the guy with the newspaper. He seemed familiar to me but I couldn't see his face to finalize that claim.
"I was thinking we could go to the fair." My eyes got bigger.
I shook my head. "I only agreed to go here." Kaz slumped.
"You are like a hermit crab." He squinted his eyes at me.
"Yeah, well don't hermit crabs stay safe?" I grinned.
"Oh, you were way too proud of yourself for that joke." I giggled, covering my mouth.
"I hate that you cover your beautiful laugh." I looked at him and shook my head. "Why are you shaking your head?"
"How did I find someone as sweet as you?" His smile grew as he knew my appreciation.
"You got lucky to find me, I guess." He shrugged, playing it off.
"Yeah, yeah! I was surprised you kind of seemed like the guy that would leave me hanging." He licked his tooth, touching his heart.
"You just bruised my ego..." I brushed my index fingers together.
"Turns out I got out of the coffeeholic faze and don't like coffee that much." I disgustingly still had the taste left in my mouth lingering.
"I should've known you didn't like coffee you always brag about tea being better than coffee." I chuckled and pushed the coffee towards him.
"Then get bigger eyes, it'll help you." I stood up and got out of the booth.
"We should probably go. So we can get more mangos." I hummed a tune waiting for him to stand up.
"Your favorite fruit. Come on mi amor." He linked his hands and tangled them with mine. I walked closer to him.
He opened the door and closed it once I was out. We walked back to the car and waited for a bit.
He put the key in the engine and started the car. "I'll go in the store to get your favorite mangos then we'll go to Margine's diner to get their famous mozzarella sticks." I nodded my head, clapping my hands together.
-
We waited in the drive-through to get some mozzarella sticks. I could practically taste it in my mouth already.
"You're drooling again," Kaz said handing me a napkin. "Your love for food is out of this world." I stuck my tongue out between my teeth.
"That's damn right! A woman's best friend is food. And that so happens to be my best friend." He gasped.
"I'm not your best friend?" I rolled my eyes and rubbed my runny nose.
"Of course, but..." He interrupted me.
"But you love food second...right?" He looked over at me.
I nodded my head, "Yeah, but I kinda want you to fight over me." I smacked my palm against my forehead. "Food vs boyfriend. Ding who would win? Food? Or boyfriend?" I playfully joked.
"It would be me. I'm a killing machine." I patted him on the shoulder.
"Sure..." We finally got our order and drove home.
It was already midnight and the sun was going down.
"The latest I've been out!" I pumped my fist up hitting the car's roof. I turned to look at him, "Sorry! It is my new world record."
"I was scared you hurt my baby..." He whined.
"Don't worry your baby is doing fine." I looked down at my stomach.
"Not that baby." I looked over at him as he frowned.
"You meant your car?" I tilted my head and pressed my lips.
"Don't get me wrong. I care about you and our baby but we need this car." I widen my eyes.
"You right! I wouldn't want you walking to the store and back." I couldn't hold in my laugh so I shrieked.
"Laugh about it. I would put a leash on you and drag you out of the house." I licked my lips.
"In other words, you're a kinky bad boy and want to tie me up with a leash?" I narrowed my eyes.
"Not even close, sweetie!" He turned off the car and unlocked the doors.
I got out and followed him up to the door. He opened it.
We both stared in disgust.
"You guys weren't supposed to be here." Our jaws dropped as Eris and Luca were practically naked in the living room.
"It's like eight." Kaz looked at his watch, "Why wouldn't we be home?"
"You guys are the one pregnant!" Eris blurred out. She hid her face in embarrassment.
I shrugged, "Come on babe let's get some rest. If y'all are going to have sex do it in your bedroom. I want to keep everything else sanitized." I locked the door and pulled Kaz upstairs.
"We should try that on the kitchen table." I shake my head.
"Not anytime soon." He groaned.
