*~* Chapter Ten *~*

Come on. Come on. Harry pick up your goddamn phone! Louis thought as he tried to call Harry for the 12th time after texting him about 30 times prior. It was closing in on 3am and Louis knew he had no choice but to go to the hospital alone. He needed to go now.

Just as Louis started to wake Lila, his phone rang.

“Hello?” Louis answered, as Lila sat up rubbing her eyes.

“Louis? Is that you?” His dad’s frantic voice came down the time. This was too familiar. Louis was almost pulled into the past but he forced himself to stay focused on the task; dressing Lila and talking to his dad.

“Yeah dad. It’s me. What’s happened?” Louis replied, staying as calm as possible for Lila’s sake. If she felt something was wrong she would start to cry and Louis needed her to stay calm.

“Lou… it’s your mum. She’s had an accident.” His dad told him. Trying not to say it without sounding as if he didn’t care.

“What. Happened.” Louis demanded. He needed to know.

“Your mum… she was driving home from her mums house… there was a truck and it was raining heavily and the truck was going to fast… her car was hit from the passenger side and then the back was hit into a light pole… I know I called you earlier saying to come here but we need you now. The doctors seen your mum and well… Lou… it doesn’t look good… I’m sorry.” His dad was starting to choke on his words. Louis had to get there and fast.

“Alright Dad. Calm down, I’m on my way. Which hospital and do you have the girls?” Louis was pulling on his coat and tugging Lila’s beanie on tighter on her little head before pulling her into his arms and scooping up his keys off the hall table.

“We’re at Mercy. You know the one. It’s just around from your house. And yeah. Lottie was out but I managed to get a hold of her and she picked up Fizz on her way as she was at a friend’s house. Daisy and Phoebe were with me at home so they’re here, asleep for now though.” He told Louis.

“Alright dad. I will see you soon.” Louis hung us as he got to the car. He opened it and then buckled in his sleeping baby girl.  Louis raced toward the hospital trying to avoid the memories that were forcing their way into his head. He did not want to be forced to remember what he tried so hard to forget for the past few years. The memories had been creeping up on him lately and it was impossible to drive when they caught him at the wrong moments. Not to mention Louis was already having trouble seeing through the rain and the tears starting to well up in his eyes.

*~*~*

As soon as Louis pulled up at the hospital, Lottie was waiting at the entrance for him. She ran to the car, tears streaming down her face and wrapped Louis up in a hug as he stepped out of the car.

“Do you want me to get Lila?” She offered.

“If you could please Lot. I need to grab my bag and her stuff.” Louis answered a grateful tone to her voice. He walked around to the passenger door and grabbed his small work satchel bag and Lila’s backpack. Louis was trying not to remember what happened with Eleanor 3 years ago. He had to be there for his sisters and dad. He walked into the waiting room with Lottie and Lila and he was immediately attacked by Fizzy, Phoebe and Daisy who all were trying not to cry. He gave the twins Lila’s bag and his 4 sisters went to set up somewhere for them to play with Lila for a while. They ended up a few seats away from where Louis and his dad sat.
