*~* Chapter Nine *~*

((A/N: I know I haven't been around in ages but yell at me later.))

*~* H *~*

It’d been 2 weeks and Harry was amazed at what Simon had thrown them into. He wanted to do it because it was what Niall and he’d been working towards for 3 years now! The songs were coming along great and the covers were a hit… But Harry was also sad because he would have to quit working at the bakery he’d been working at since he was 16 years old. He made the best friends he could ever imagine whilst working there. Britni was his rock when he had to come out to his parents after 3 years of hiding, Jemma was always the one who could make him laugh, Perrie was the shining star of the bakery; whenever she performed she’d bring so many people in and they’d become her regulars. The people that would come into see her perform and would stay eating the food for another hour or so.

Harry decided to walk to the bakery that day. Louis woke up early with him to Lila screaming that she was stuck… again. He told Louis as they made breakfast that he’d go have his last day today. He’d actually called Mama yesterday but he wanted one last day in the bakery and to tell the girls in person because they were going to kill him as it is. Britni… oh lord. He didn’t want to think about what would happen to him when he told her.

He was there an hour before opening time; having woken up at 6 to Lila screaming and leaving before 7. He could see Mama and Britni inside and they seemed to be fighting with Nicole… again. I wonder what Nici did this time… probably dropped out. As Harry opened the door he could catch the words being screamed at a very sombre looking Nicole.

“YOU DROPPED OUT!? HOW COULD YOU NIC! WE’VE WORKED OUR BUTTS OFF TO GET YOU TO THAT SCHOOL AND YOU DROP OUT!?” Mama seethed as Nicole and Britni flinched at the words flung at her. Harry stepped through the door and closed it behind him. Mama’s back was to the door and she didn’t seem to notice it opening but Britni and Nicole did.

“HARRY!” Nicole screamed as she raced around her seething mother to throw herself into Harry’s arms. They hadn’t seen each other since she’d moved away to study. But it seemed like she’d be staying around now.

“Hey Nic.” Harry laughed and hugged her back, squeezing her hard enough for her to complain when he let go.

“How’ve you been Harry? Still babysitting and fawning after her dad?” Nic teased as she walked to the other side of the counter with Britni not far behind. Mama had stalked off to her office to mull things over it appeared.

“Still babysitting Lila; yes.” Harry answered, ignoring the other question but neither of the girls pushed him about it. He walked up to the counter and promptly sat on it to test Nicole in her impulse control. It hadn’t gotten better it seemed because in under 30 seconds he was face first on the bakery floor and she was wiping at the spot he’d been sitting.

“Still sitting on things you shouldn’t Harry?” Nicole said, smirking up at him as he dusted off his pants.

“Always Nici. Always.” He smirked back as he walked into the kitchen to start on the list Mama had drawn up on the chalk board. Vanilla, Choc Chip, Double Choc muffins, Cupcakes, Cinnamon Rolls**, Croissants**, Pastries, Cookies, Cakes etc. Mama only had only 2 out of the ordinary things on that board but they were Harry’s specialty so it worked out nicely.

As soon as he’d donned his apron and washed his hands he started on the croissants and cinnamon rolls because they were starred, meaning they had none left over from the day before or at all to sell before the rest were ready. Harry could smell the muffins cooking away in Britni’s oven meaning she’d gotten a head start on them and the cupcakes so she could be decorating for a good part of the day. As Harry started to knead the dough for the cinnamon rolls; Britni entered the kitchen and went to her station, humming a familiar tune as she pulled the fresh muffins out and placed them on the racks to cool a little before transferring them to the front of house; which was being set up by Nicole and Jemma.
