Chapter Three

*~* L *~*

Louis was reeling over what Liam and Zayn had said all day. Questions were going through his head from the moment they stopped speaking to the moment he got into his car to drive home. What did they think about me? Are they silently judging me? Do they think I am insane for falling for Harry? It had just turned 5 o’clock when he parked his car in the underground car park of his apartment building. Lou went through all the checks; windows up, boot closed, doors locked properly; before he left for the elevator that promised to take him to his apartment. Just my bloody luck! Louis thought as he saw the “Out of order” sign resting across the elevator doors. That means the whole BUILDING has no working elevators! No fair… I don’t wanna climb all these stairs!!!! Louis was about to stomp his foot like the queen he was but he was still in public and there were people as tired as he was, even more so in some cases that had to climb the stairs too so he couldn’t complain no matter how much he wanted to. Louis had just reached the door for his apartment when he was so overcome with tiredness that he nearly dropped his keys; but he got the deadbolt unlocked and twisted the unlocked door handle and shuffled his way into his apartment.

“Holy shit Louis! You’ve over worked yourself again today haven’t you?!” Harry rushed over to him and helped him to sit down on the couch. Harry then scrambled off and Louis heard the clambering of mugs as Harry searched for Lou’s favourite, a clunking of something going onto a plate and Lou’s tea being poured. Luckily by know Harry knew how Louis had it so he never had to ask.

“Here drink this and eat a cookie or two and I’ll go get Lila up. She just had her nap around half an hour ago.” Harry walked off to get Lou’s little girl up and Louis simply sat on the couch sipping at his tea and nibbling on one of the M&M cookies Harry had given him. It was 5:30 so Harry put her down an hour ago… I wish she didn’t take naps this late… Well I guess since I have the only car so they would’ve had to walk and it’s about an hour each way… Louis was still deep in thought when a bright, yet still tired looking Lila bounded into the room.

“DADDY!!!” She cried as she flung her arms around Louis’ neck.

Louis laughed, though even to him it sounded tired and weak; “hi there darling.” He smiled weakly at his daughter and then Harry spoke up from where he was leaning on the wall he looked VERY concerned about Louis.

“Lila, how about you get your pictures you did today baby? The ones you did before and after we made the cookies?” Harry started walking over just as Lila eagerly jumped up and ran into the kitchen which was almost spotless. Louis approved; he hated mess. Although he does sometimes come home just as they are starting to clean up and Harry always does a good job which Louis appreciates more than anything really.

“Louis…” Harry was careful with his words and his actions around Louis. He knew when Louis was tired or stressed, even the TINIEST thing would make him burst out crying or send him into an angry fit. “You need to stop working yourself so hard… you work at one of the biggest record companies in the world and you get one of the highest salaries! You don’t need to work so hard boo… everything will be fine…” Louis got shivers down his spine (good ones) when Harry used his nickname his mom gave him when he was really little. I don’t think Harry noticed but Louis was ready to blurt out EVERYTHING to Harry! But of course that would RUIN everything… Wouldn’t it? Louis didn’t know. And before he could ask a very careful question, Lila bounded in with the pictures she’d drawn and coloured in. Harry got up and mouthed ‘dinner’ to Louis to tell him he was going to start making something for them to eat. Lila took Harry’s spot and started showing Louis the pictures.
