Harry had been kind of avoiding Louis all morning… Louis was scared that he had done something really bad… had he said something that scared Harry? Did something happen to Harry that’s scared him? Did someone attack him on his way home last night? Lou didn’t know… and didn’t know how to bring up the question without sounding like an overprotective parent! Which he was but that wasn’t the point! Harry wasn’t a child! He sometimes acted like one but he could be mature as well and Louis knew that.

Shortly after breakfast Lila had a play day to go to with one of the mums Louis knew well. She was a friend of Eleanor and Louis from high school. A lovely lady with a little girl Lila’s age. Louis was pondering what had happened to Harry the whole drive there and on the way home. Harry knew about the play date so when asked what his day was concocted of he said he had no plans and was just going to laze around Lou’s flat because; even though Lila didn’t need him he just wanted to stay with Louis… not an uncommon thing really but Harry never did it when he had seen his parents the night before… they usually made sure he was home! And if he wasn’t home Louis got some very, VERY abusive phone calls… okay that’s a stretch but still. They weren’t pleasant. Harry’s parents had thought; right from the START of this; that Harry and Louis were secretly screwing each other every time Harry babysat… The only flaw most times? Louis was at work and had around 20 or so witnesses every time. He knew it bothered Harry but he really couldn’t do much but be supportive of the curly headed lad! He needed that more than anything. 

As Louis pulled up into the parking garage of his building after dropping Lila off; his phone rang. It was Becca; Dakota’s mum. Surely nothing had happened yet! He answered anyway. “Hey Becs. What’s up?”

“I forgot to ask you when you were here about the work function!” Becca chocked out a little breathless. Louis had forgotten ALL about that!

“Sounding a bit breathless there love; don’t let the girls kill you too much!” They both had a chuckle at that. “I had actually forgotten about that… I’m so sorry! But who am I allowed to invite? I have to go as Jasmin’s plus one because she’d asked pretty much straight away… But I am allowed another mate and his own plus one aren’t I?”

“Yeah that’s right! So in your little group with Liam and Zayn there’s going to be…” Louis could hear she was trying to find the sheet on her desk which was probably the messiest thing in her house. “Zayn’s bringing his friend Jemma, Liam’s bringing Leigh… because of the fights with Dani he doesn’t want them to fight at such a big event…” 

“Yeah we we’re talking about that yesterday actually… I forgot AFTER that…”

“Ha, ha well! You are forgetful… always has been, always will be I guess. Um… You’ll be with Jasmin as her first option is out of town and then I’m assuming you’ll be bringing Harry?” He knew she was smirking now her tone said it ALL! But it was true… he would take Harry if he agreed!

“Yeah I will be if he says yes! And I’ll text you the answer and his plus one if the answer is yes.” Louis smiled into his words… even though Becca couldn’t see him.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah Tomlinson. We both know it’ll be a yes now get going! I need answers mate! SO GO! I need answers by tonight or you have no more guests! Numbers need to be in Tommo!!!” That’s Becca… always screaming. I wonder if Josh will come this year… he said he might… Louis though idly as he climbed back out of his car and locked it. Josh Devine was Becca’s husband and he had missed it last year because Dakota was sick but this year both the girls; Lila and Dakota; were going to stay with Lou’s mum because Josh and Becca couldn’t find anyone else and Louis’ mum loved the girls to pieces anyway.  Louis said goodbye to Becca assuring her that he will know by tonight.
