Ponk woke up that morning alone.

He sat up tiredly, he looked around, and to his surprise and disappointment no one was with him. He was alone again. He looked up at his nightstand, a small letter sat there. Out of curiosity he reached over and picked it up and opened it. It was from Sam. It read;

Sorry I had to go on such short notice, there's a few things I'm behind on that quackity is annoying me about. I'll be back as soon as I'm done, alright?  Thanks for giving me a chance. I know it'll take awhile before you can fully forgive me, but I'll wait however long it takes. I promise I won't make the same mistake again, I'll see you soon ponky

-sam

Ponk couldn't help but smile. He read through the note a couple of times, almost memorizing each word as he did. He put the note back on his nightstand as he stood up. He looked out the window, his thoughts took him over as he got ready to go outside for abit. He needed the fresh air, a nice walk down the prime path even. No doubt he'd probably run into someone who wasn't the happiest with him due to the egg, but what he didn't know was who.

That was his first mistake.

Ponk stepped outside his house, a nice day to go outside. He walked over his bridge, enjoy the view of that he had from his house. Not many people knew about where he lived, and he'd rather keep it that way after the whole banquet situation. It didn't take long for him to see the community house. He decided to walk over there, telling himself he'd figure out where to go from there. Though, to his surprise someone was already there- looking as if he'd been waiting for someone. Ponks heart sunk as he recognized the man.

Foolish.

He watched foolish look over at him, who didn't seem surprised he was there, as if he knew ponk would be there today. "Foolish!" Ponk smiled, walking up to him. Foolish looked down for a moment, as if he himself didn't know what to say. "You..let me die, ponk- why?" Foolish snapped at him, ponk stopped walking, he stood there a couple feet away from him.

Ponk looked down, "foolish..I didn't know." He looked up, watching foolish back up Abit. He couldn't tell if foolish was mad, or scared of him. Or..both.

"What the hell do you mean by that ponk! You stood there and watched me die. What kind of friend are you!?" Ponk closed his eyes, he took a deep breath before opening them again and looking up. "I wasn't involved in it! I was the greeter foolish-" Ponk couldn't find the words to explain the situation, he only wanted to take a walk, not be yelled at by his best friend. If you could even call foolish his best friend.

"Being the greeter isn't an excuse ponk..I died, ponk. And you- YOU WATCHED!" Ponk backed up, his eyes started to get blurry with the forming tears. He couldn't take it- not right now. "I- I'm sorry! I didn't know this would happen I-" Ponk looked down at his hands, they were shaking. It hurt. Everything hurt- physically and emotionally.

Foolish, on the other hand, calmed down as he noticed the tears fall down ponks face. Maybe ponk wasn't lying. He sighed, though he couldn't trust ponk, he couldn't just stand there and watch ponk break down. Ponk had gone through enough- he didn't want to leave ponk alone. Especially when he had been through so much recently.

"..I'm sorry ponk." Foolish walked over to ponk, who looked up at him for a moment before hugging him tightly. Foolish sighed, hugging him back. "It's okay if you can't find the words. I just- I can't trust you yet alright..? Youll just have to prove that you aren't lying.." foolish rubbed ponks back, not saying anything else as ponk sobbed into his chest.

While it took a couple minutes of comforting and a lot of carrying around, foolish brought ponk somewhere special.

Ponk held foolishs hand tightly as they walked through a small path in forest. "..my legs hurt.." foolish sighed. "Ponk you've literally been walking for less then a minute- I carried you the whole way here.." foolish chuckled, "doesn't matter, we're here." Foolish said as he started stepping down the hill, ponk followed, looking at the beach ahead of them.

"What is this place foolish?" Ponk asked as he watch foolish let go of his hand, walking up to the water. Ponk stayed there and looked around for a moment before following him. He watched foolish stare at the water. "..you wanna see something cool, ponk?" Ponk tilted his head, "..sure?"

And with that, foolish put a hand out, ponk looked at the water, a little confused. Slowly, the water started to move the opposite way as the tide. "It's been awhile since I done this..I actually suck at it now.." foolish tilted his head, almost struggling as he made a path into the ocean, revealing the ocean floor as he continued to move back.

Ponk watched in both shock and amazement, he knew foolish had some sort of power- but to control the ocean? He never would've thought he could do this. Ponk hesitated before walking forward, looking at the walls of water slowly moved up the further he walked. "Foolish! Look! There's a fish!" Ponk raised his voice enough for foolish to hear as he looked at the fish he could see swimming around. Foolish chuckled, seeing ponk so happy made him happy, though it was hard to hold the water up like this, it was worth it.

Ponk looked back, noticing how foolish was struggling. He felt bad for watching the fish for so long. He quickly walked back, standing next to foolish as the he watched the walls collapse. "..that was so cool!" Ponk looked at the water for another second before foolish, "..yeah. So cool." Foolish rubbed his arm, a little sore from exhausting his power. He had a hard time regaining his control of his power after he died.

"You should do it again!" Foolish chuckled, not expecting so much excitement from ponk. "Maybe another time..I'll bring you here and show you more."  Ponk sighed, sitting down as he nodded. Foolish sat down next to him, staring out into the ocean.

Ponk rested his head on foolishs shoulder, he hesitated before speaking. "Sam visited me yesterday." He said, gaining the attention of foolish. Foolish looked over at ponk for a moment, making sure he was okay and wasn't upset about the fact sam was with him. "Oh..why?" Foolish looked back out at the sea. "..I don't exactly know. It just felt- like he was trying to forget the whole arm situation..it seemed so surreal- almost like I didn't even know the interaction was real until he was gone." Foolish listened to ponk talk, a little surprised he wasn't already breaking down- no, ponk was okay talking about Sam now, something clearly happened at that visit, but foolish didn't want to pry.

"Well..just be careful..alright?" Foolish looked down, he wasn't sure if he wanted ponk getting too close up Sam, mostly in fear that Sam would end up hurting ponk again. "I will.." ponk said as he moved his hand to foolish, holding his tightly. Foolish looked down at the hands for a moment. It reminded him of the constant times his hands were sore from the amount of times he'd get ponk to hold it tightly, especially the first few times he had to wrap up ponks injuries. For once it wasn't being crushed, but it was definitely nice to have ponk calm and happy. Something you rarely saw of him anymore.

Foolish looked at ponk, who was nodding off to sleep. He sighed, letting go of ponks hand and moving them around ponk, picking the smaller figure up as he stood up. He looked at the water, the sunset reflecting so perfectly on it. He looked away, walking up to the hill, knowing this would be a long walk.

After a long. Exhausting walk he opened ponks door, looking at the dark living room. Naturally, he looked over in the corner of ponks hallway, happy to not seeing his friend breaking down, but instead in his arms calm and content for the time being. He closed the door behind him before walking down the hallway, walking into ponks room and looking around. He turned on the lights, feeling ponk dig his face into his shoulder to block out the light.

Foolish walked over to the side of the bed, looking out the window for a minute, the sun fully down. He looked at the bed, carefully laying ponk down. He stood there for a second, making sure ponk didn't wake up, watching him shuffle into a comfortable position. He pulled the covers over him before looking back up, he sighed and walked over to the door, his whole body sore from multiple things. He turned off the lights before quietly closing the door, leaving the house after sitting on the couch and relaxing for a minute.
