Unspoken and Hopefully Unbroken Bonds.

We can all agree its been long enough. Whats in the letter? Why is Dwayne so nervous about it? Why is Cassie so anxious to talk to Dwayne about it? Why did the author say Dwayne was a love-struck teenager?

Well, its honestly not that big of a deal! Its just a letter written by a stressed out Cowboy needing help. His girlfriend back in Texas was having some pretty bad family issues and wanted to take a break with Dwayne. Dwayne was okay with it, of course, but he still wanted to be there for her. Though, he had no clue on how to comfort someone in a situation like this. So, he went to the one friend he knew went through something similar. Cassie. Cassie was really glad to help. After the things she went through with her family, she was glad to help anyone in similar situations, to comfort them. She felt a slight responsibility for helping people out with that. See, not a totally big deal concerning the Ducks. Except it definitely concerned Les and felt like the biggest deal of his life.

In their first year at Eden Hall, Cassie and Dwayne shared a weird little bond that no one really cared to notice. They shared things with eachother that they wouldnt with anyone else. They were eachothers little outlet, in a way. It's almost like an unspoken bond.

Talking about the letter made Dwayne nervous because he really wanted to help his 'gal'. He didnt want to make things worse or harder for her. This made Cassie anxious almost for the same reason. As mentioned before, she felt almost responsible to help people out with these situations. It was the only topic she felt really helpful, because when you go through something, get past it, and see others going through it like you did once before, you may feel the need to be a sense of comfort or give advice. Be helpful in amy way you can. Thats how Cassie felt, especially with her friend.

We've already covered the love-struck teenager. Dwayne, with Mia! . Or at least one of them..

Cassie was really caught up on helping Dwayne to think of things like why Les is upset and ignoring her or even her feelings for him. She was caught up in her self-proclaimed responsibility. This felt a tad more important than a crush on a red-heas prankster. You cant blame her for that.

But Les could. He could because he didnt understand. He had no clue what was going on. All he knew was the one girl he liked, liked on someone else. He was too stubborn and too much of a hormonal teenager to think of any other possible reasoning for Cassie's business.

So, since he could blame Cassie, and he did, his only good idea on what do to was ignore and push her away.

It wasnt a good idea.

It hurt everybody, Cassie. Les. The whole friend group, honestly. Jesse knew how Les was feeling, seeing as the boy went to rant about anytime he saw Cassie in the halls and how badly he wanted to talk to her. But he never did. Not once.

They had an amazing bond and everyone hoped Les wouldnt ruin the bond bc of something they dont fully understand.

Dont ruin the unbroken bond.
