I was escorted to one of the many rooms in the manor, or as they called it, House of Wind.
I was given a stack of clothes to change into, and an hour to do so. Please, who needs an HOUR to get ready??
2 hours would be more appropriate, but I would have to work with what I've got.
I got changed into a Terrasen green blouse with a flowing silver skirt that matched the shade of his hair... I found a pair of silver chains for earrings. a pair of black high heels waited for me at the door, stating that I wouldn't be able to run away in them. I rolled my eyes, yeah right! they had no idea who they were dealing with. I went hunting in the endless wardrobe and decided that this person had amazing taste! I slipped on a pair of green flats instead, easy to run in.
I open the door, and at first thought, no one is there to take me to dinner, but then I felt something...a presence...a shadow, hiding in the corner. I look it dead in the eye and words unwillingly come out of my mouth, "you hide. Why?"
I mentally facepalm myself, who talks to shadows?
"How did you know I was here?" a quiet voice responds, the shadows clearing away slightly to reveal a winged man.
"I...felt your presence" i say and he give a look of confusion, "I didn't know hoomans had such good sences"
OH. THATS why he was confused, "I was trained by one of the best. To bad I killed him, or he could give you some tips on security against assassins" i say as I pick my nails.
the bat gives a soft smile, "No other courts know this plae exists, nor can they get in without walking the ten thousand steps to the top"
I don't let him see past my poker face.
"This way" is all he says as we set off down the hallway
***
we arrive in a grand dining room fit for kings and queens and me.
We are that last, it seems to arrive, but I notice five seats empty. one at the head of the table next to another bat, with an unearthly amount of power radiating off his body. to the right of the head of the table, sits another bat, but with long hair. two empty seats sit between him and Lysandra. On the other side of the table are two girls that look a lot like Feyre. Between them and Amren is another free seat, probably Feyres. on the other side of Amren sit two hooman girls with a free seat next to them. across the table from them sit two hooman boys. I take the seat next to Lysandra, the shadow bat on my other side.
I look at Lysandra and I can see she has made the same conclusion as me.
I look at Amrenm "Where is the rest of our...group?" the head bat looks at Amren, "there were more ant you didn't think to tell us?"
Amren swirls around whatever dark liquid are in her glass, "If Andras hadn't taken them before I could, Rhysand, then yes, they would be here alongside these two."
the head bat - Rhysand - glares her down before long-haired bat interrupts, speaking to us, "Don't worry, we'll make a plan"
"Territorial Fae bastards, think that only YOU can save the world. I'm sure our companions will be fine until Lys and I can go and save them. The Cadre would kill anyone who came within three feet of Elide. so, they can handle themselves, if they haven't already escaped"
The bat just stares at me, in shock until we hear a burst of laughter coming from one of Feyre's twins, "About time Cassian! someone finally tells you that they don't need an Illyrian to come and do their every need!! the look on your face!"
the bat - Cassian - only smirks, " the look on you face is always better Nesta, especially when your moaning my name"
The shadow next to me snorts, Amren spitting her drink back into the glass.
Rhysand opens his glass, about to say something when three women walk in, or two females and one hooman
Feyre speaks, "sorry we're late Rhys" his expression softened towards her, "How did Mor hold you up?"
She just smiles and takes the seat at the head of the table next to Rhysand.
What had Tamlin called her, High Lady?
The female in the vibrant red dress takes the seat next to Amren, the girls with Rowan's eyes at the other side of the table next to the two other hooman girls.
"Names" is barely a whisper coming from the third twin.
Rhys gives her a smile, "indeed we don't. I'll go first, and we'll go clockwise, finishing with Cassian. I'm Rhysand, High Lord of the Night Court"
"I am Feyre Acheron, Cursebreaker, defender of the rainbow, High Lady of the Night Court"
"Nesta Archeron, eldest sister of the High Lady, Emissary to the human lands, scryer of the Night Court"
"I'm Elain, elder sister of the High Lady, seer of the Night Court"
"Amren. Second in command of the High Lord and Lady. Code cracker, Master of puzzles"
Morrigan, Third in command of the High Lord and Lady, Rhys's cousin, but don't remind me that im related to him to often, and you can call me Mor"
"Kathleen, Gryffindor prefect at Hogwarts"
"Elaway, Ravenclaw prefect of Hogwarts."
"Euphoria, Hufflepuff prefect at Hogwarts"
"Delilah Ashryver Whitethorn Galathynius, Slytherin prefect at Hogwarts"
My body stills. She lived. My child, Rowans child had lived. Where had Rowan taken her, that had cost him his life? That was why she had Rowans eyes and my golden flecks. My child had lived.
2 more names passed, Aidan and Jack, jack a prefect of Gryffindor and Aidan a prefect of Ravenclaw. I refocus just in time for Lysandra to start, " I'm Lysandra As-"
"Celaena Sardothien, Queen of Assassins, Adarlans Assassin."
Lysandra doesn't look at me.
Doesn't give anything away.
"Azriel, Shadowsinger of the Night Court"
i jumped, i'd forgotten the shadow bat was there - he seemed to have shadows wrapped around him, making him unnoticeable.
"Cassian, General of the Night Courts armies"
"such fancy titles" i drawl, clapping my hands slowly for emphasis
everyone turns to face me, "What? it's just true! even the teenagers have titles! comeon Lys, back me up here"
Lysandra merely says, "I want no part in whatever you plan on doing to get yourself killed. But Celaena, how about a battle against Cassian? He can use everything he's got, and you can just use your sword"
Cassian raises his eyebrows, "I'm not entirely sure that's fair. for one, Celaenas a human, and two, I'm the strongest warrior in all of Pyrthian!" he says, puffing out his chest.
Feyre mumbles, "Sensitive Illyrians - to proud of yourselves. At least Az has some SENSE in the Illyrian mind of his."
Rhysand chokes on his wine, "Is Az really the only good one of us? do my brains not at least help with one thing in life?"
they stare at each other before Mor interrupts, " do you mind having your telekinesis conversation somewhere else, perhaps a bedroom?"
All of the hoomans start coughing and snorting, and quickly excuse themselves from the table.
I can't help it.
I follow Delilah.
What if Rowan in still alive?
