We had all left the table as soon as a bedroom was mentioned, not wanting to be a part of THAT conversation
Ya-an and I walked to our chambers together, seeming as they linked together. we both entered our own rooms and got changed before she knocked on the door that links our bedrooms, signalling that I could enter.
i enter her room and immediately see that I got the lucky room. while my room has windows from floor to bottom and bright and vibrant flowers, Ya-an's room has the heaviest curtains ever covering her windows, to heavy for her to move she says, and all of the flower have permanently wilted, in such a beautiful way though.
I'm about to suggest we fix her room up, when we hear noises coming from the room next to mine. Delilahs room. We silently press our ears against the walls, guiltily eavsdropping on Delilah.
"Delilah, right?" That girl from dinner. The assassin.
"yes. what do you want." Delilahs says, not a question.
"I realise this may be personal, but tell me, who is your mother?"
oh shit.
I sense panic raising in Delilahs voice as she answers with a firm voice, "indeed that is personal. get out of my rooms."
she keeps going, "you never knew your mother I'm guessing. but...what about...your father?"
"he died from heartache. missed my mother too much, but couldn't get back to her. never spoke about her to my face, just kept it building uoo inside of his self until..." her voice cut off, sobbing."
"What was his name?" the woman asks, voice soft.
"Rowan. Rowan Ashryver Whitethorn Galathynius. Prince of some weird kingdoms called Terrasen and Wendlyn."
"I'm sorry I asked. i didn't know he was...dead
now Celaena sounds like shes about to cry
"He-my dad once mentioned Adarlan. Said he'd been there before. Maybe you live close to us??
he also once mentioned a female. Alien? no...Aelin. Do you know who that is?"
no answer except a sob escaping from Celaensa throat.
we hear a door slam.
Since that exchange, I haven't spoken.
Not.
One.
Word.
OK. i realise that's weird.
i don;t know why I did that, but hey!
now I'm gonna start adding something to the end of my chapeters
