A mysterious girl cloaked in silver, eyes as red as rubies and hair seemingly spun from the lightest twine, sat on the same old wooden bench and waited. Without a name or a story, she wondered for how long she had been there.
She took off her hood with a deep sigh, stepping up from her spot for the first time in who knows how many ages. Under the fading light of the sun and cascading citrus tones of the setting sky, she took a step forward. Her hands as if holding her heart in her chest, she prepared herself for what was to come; the Flashing she called it. When the day wasn't the day she was waiting for, time moved on on it's own. She was sent off in a spiral of lights and wind with the distant ticking of an old grandfather's clock in the back of her mind. She vanished for what looked like a moment but felt like years.
Then she was back again at the same bench but with the new sunset.
Suddenly a loud noise sounded out behind her and she turned around- The once wide open park square had shrunk about half in size and strange wheeled vehicles roared and honked down a newly paved road. Her eyes shined, reflecting the beams of every star-like light pouring from the tallest buildings she had ever seen as they scraped along through the sky. There's always something new in Ninjago City; One moment they're holding fire and the next they capture stars.
While she tried to stay focus on the task at hand, she couldn't help but take a moment for herself, gazing around the city. Though, she wanted more than just a moment. As she watched the friends and families walk peacefully along the pavement she could only feel more and more isolated in her invisible time capsule.
The girl found herself sinking back onto the bench. Again, more sunrises and sunsets had passed. And she continuously waited.
As a heavy breeze blew past, her old withered scroll slid from her waist, falling into the evergreen grass. She picked it back up and held it regretfully in her lap.
The scroll was what told her to wait there. The child forgotten by the winds of time, the child forgotten by fate. She had to remain still, patiently watching for the golden eyes that would lead her back into the supposed 'god's' view.
With so much time on her hands she lost herself in her own mind, constantly searching for old memories and feelings. Unable to talk to anyone, just sitting down and counting the endless mass of stars until the next Flash spontaneously came and took her to the next century. But she tried to stay hopeful, reminding herself everyday of her foretold, yet long-forgotten, purpose..

"When will mother be home?"
"In a bit, just be patient."
"But I'm so bored! Will you read me another story? Please!"
"If it'll keep you quiet, sure."
"The one about the snake people! I want to know how that one snake got so big!"
"Well I can tell you that easy, he probably just ate his vegetables like a good kid!"
"Gross.. then I'll never eat my vegetables so I can stay your little sister forever!"
"You know you'll always be my little sister anyways- obviously"
~
"I am truly sorry about your losses, my dear child, but this is the only way to save them. You must wait here, as per the prophecy. You must wait for the Golden Master."
~
"With this power you will be able to bend all of time and space to your will! Just let the light in-"

"Hello?"
Suddenly, an old voice called out to the girl on the bench. It had a soothing deep tone hidden under it's unique gentle rasp. She turned to find the source and there stood an old man clothed in white and gold robes, a bamboo staff in his left hand, and a weaved sun hat shading his upper face. He approached the girl, stroking his long ivory beard,
"What brings such a young child here at this hour? All alone at that."
As he got closer his shadowed figure reached the new street light shading over the bench, he now stood in clear sight, a mere few feet from the girl.
"Me-?"
"Yes, you."
"You- Can you see me?"
"The magic that binds you can't escape the eyes of an Elemental Master. What is a Spellcaster doing here in Ninjago City?"
"I-"
This was the first time anyone had spoken to her since she first sat on this bench. She thought she was invisible to everyone else, but apparently this man wasn't everybody..
She spoke to herself in her mind all these years but suddenly talking aloud to a stranger was exceptionally more difficult as she fought to push the words out.
She rose from her seat in a panic, her scroll once again sliding down her side and landing on the ground. It rolled to the man's feet. The girl's eyes widened and she rushed to grab it, but the old gentleman had already taken it in his wrinkled grasp. As he looked over the scroll, she could hear a subtle gasp of air escape his pale peony lips. He looked to her face, his eyes meeting hers for the first time. She stumbled backwards as the shadows on his face faded under the light, revealing the pigmentation of his gaze..
"Golden eyes.. The Golden Master?"
The aged man handed her back the scroll,
"My name is Wu. Who are you?"
