Chapter 13

Lionblaze's POV

         Lionblaze felt bad at yelling at Jayfeather and knew that he should go and apologize he was just upset because Cinderheart was barely talking to him or anyone. All she did was space out and eat fresh kill and did nothing else. Later Lionblaze was leading a hunting patrol close to the Shadowclan border and all of a sudden something seemed a bit off with the scent markers. Lionblaze paused and sniffed the air and he asked Berrynose if anything seemed off about the scent marks. "hmm Lionblaze you're right something does seem a bit off. Everyone spread out and check the markers". Everyone did as Berrynore said and then Lionblaze heard Poppyfrost snarl "hey what do you think you're doing here"! Lionblaze immediately whipped around and saw Poppyfrost snarling at 5 Shadowclan warriors that was surrounding her. Lionblaze recognized Ratscar, Snowbird, Dawnpelt, Tigerheart, and Redwillow. Redwillow spoke up and growled "it doesn't matter what we're doing here we should be the ones asking you what are you doing here since you are on our territory". Lionblaze felt his hackles and fur start to raise and bristle and he snarled in return "what do you mean our territory?? This is our territory your territory ends at the dead tree". Dawnpelt stepped foward and replied looking inoccently "oh oops sorry about that. I never noticed the scent marks since they... seemed so faint ya know". Berrynose snarled "get out of here and don't you ever come and cross Thunderclan's territory again"! Snowbird unsheathed her claws and replied sweetly "oh I don't think so". And with that she lifted her tail and leaped at Berrynose and the two cats went rolling down in a ball of screeching cats, and a battle burst out. Lionblze turned to see Tigerheart leaping at him and he reared up to meet Tigerheart's attack. Tigerheart swiveled to the left and tried to bring a paw up and slice Lionblaze's flank but Lionblaze was faster and he whipped around and kicked Tigerheart's legs out from underneath him. He reared up and beat Tigerheart back with strong and efficient blows and Lionblaze heard a noise and smelled Cherrypaw's scent. Tigerheart took advantage of Lionblaze's distraction and slammed a paw onto Lionblaze's chest and shoved his paws into the side of Lionblaze, but since they were both big Tigerheart only managed to make Lionblaze stagger. Lionblaze feinted to the left then the right and then whipped around to his right and hooked a paw out from underneath Tigerheart and Lionblaze drove Tigerheart into the bushes driving him away. Then Lionblaze lept throught the ferns and spotted Cherrypaw and he raced to her and said "Cherrypaw I need you to go and fetch more warriors please" Cherrypaw's eyes were round as moons but she nodded and she sped off towards the direction of camp. Lionblaze lept off into the battle and dealt a couple of hard blows to Dawnpelt and unbalanced her and pinned her to the ground and he raked his hind paws against her spine while his front paws dug a firm hold into Dawnpelt's shoulders. Dawnpelt let out a shriek of rage and pain and she tried to dislodge him but he was bigger and heavier that she couldn't. All of a sudden Lionblaze heard the sound of paws and let out a sigh of relief. Lionblaze leaped off Dawnpelt and dealt a few more blows to her shoulders and ears but she ran away screeching in anger. Lionblaze saw Dovewing chasing after her to the border and he saw Ivypool in a fierce grapple with Snowbird.
