Mikey immediately jolted out of his sleep to see his stepdad standing over him. He had purposely dropped the glass vase that Emma had got him on the floor, just to spite him.

The older man looked at Mikey and chuckled, "Good morning." He said, giving the younger one last look before leaving and closing the door behind himself.

Mikey sighed and put his slippers on so he wouldn't step in the glass. He took his charged phone off the charger and unlocked it, opening the messages between him and Draken.

Aren't you supposed to be in class? Where the hell are you?

I missed the bus

I'm guessing you forgot to set your alarm clock

As Draken requested, Mikey quickly finished getting ready so that by the time he got here, he wouldn't have to wait. Emma rides with Hakkai and Yuzuha so he doesn't need to worry about her every morning. When he walked out of the room, he saw his stepdad sitting on the couch, eating the cereal that he had bought strictly for himself.

He sighed, "Is that my cereal?" He asked quietly.

His stepdad scoffed and shrugged his shoulders, "Oops. Didn't know everything in this house belonged to you." He said as he continued eating.

Technically the house did belong to Mikey. The ownership of the house was in Mikey's name from inheritance. Since he wasn't 21 yet or hadn't graduated, he couldn't go to court yet and claim it as his. Mikey's original plan was to graduate school and go to court to get ownership of the house.

He knew that if he could prove that his mom left 5 years ago then he could get the house. Of course, everyone knows that at the age of 16, you can legally move of out your parent's house but if you're trying to buy a house, you'd have to have a high school diploma or something to prove that you've graduated.

"You should start walking." His stepdad said abruptly.

Mikey sat down on the chair across from him, "Why?" He questioned.
