One

It was just another day in Crenshaw, and after school, I went to see the boys practice. That's when I noticed him. Who was he? I've never seen him before. I got so caught up in him running passes I didn't realize Cam walking towards me. He pulled me in and kissed me.
"Ew you're sweaty" I laughed.
"You know you love it," Cam smirked.
"Maybe a little," I said, and I pointed to the new kid, "Who's that?"
"Darnell Hayes, Coach James brought him in from Nevada,"
"James? Spencer's dad?"
"Yeah, why?"
"I wonder what he's gonna say"
"Babygirl, calm down, Spencer already knows, he came by to send a video to Chris"

I nodded and Cam went back to practice. I couldn't keep my eyes off of Darnell. He knew and understood football like no one else, and I already felt guilty. I barely seen his face, and I'm not even paying attention to my own boyfriend, who I'm here to see. I know something already isn't right, but I'm attracted to him.

By the time practice was over I was sitting on the bleachers, since I have a bad ankle so standing is not my thing. Cam noticed me and walked over to me, bringing the new star player, Darnell. I gathered my books, and put them in my book bag, which I slung over my shoulder. I picked up my water bottle and started to meet up with Cam. He grabbed me by the waist and kissed my forehead.
"Babygirl, meet Darnell. Darnell, meet my girl Janeari," Cam introduced us.
"Hi nice to meet you," Darnell held out his hand.
"Likewise," I shook Darnell's hand.
"I'm not trying to offend you bro, but your girl is gorgeous," Darnell stated, after he took his hand back.
"Thank you, and she's all mine," Cam smirked, and kissed me again.
"Babe, we've been over this, I'm only half yours"  I said.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, you technically belong to Coop being her twin and all," Cam rolled his eyes.
"Coop?" Darnell asked.
"My twin sister, but you don't got a chance with her, she's gay and got a girl," I laughed.
"Yeah, but she a snitch so stay away if you don't any personal business leaked," Cam stated and I hit him. "Ouch,"
"That's my sister, now I got to go, I'm helping Ms. Grace with some stuff for Dillion," I sighed and walked away angry.

I understand that Coop went to the police about Tyrone but she wanted him off the streets. She did what was right and I was over everyone calling her a snitch even my boyfriend. She did good, nothing bad so everyone needs to leave her alone. I just wish everyone would leave her alone.

As I was walking to Ms. Grace's house, I heard footsteps behind me, but before I could speed up, there was a tapping on my shoulder. I turned around and saw a dark complexion and when my eyes adjusted, I realized it was Darnell.
"You following me?" I asked.
"Um, no, well yes, but I wanted to say sorry for Cam, Coop is your sister and he shouldn't disrespect her," Darnell stated, and we started walking.
"Don't worry about it, it's a long story, but your new so no need to get you into the drama," I said.
"If he says stuff like that, why are you with him?" Darnell asked.
"Not that any of this is your business, but he treats me well, he is just a dickhead sometimes and runs his mouth,"
"Your stubborn aren't you?"
"Can be, why?"
"It's cute,"
"Woah, if your hitting on me, Cam will beat you if he finds out,"
"I don't mean to, but your the prettiest girl I've seen since I've moved here,"
"Darnell let me just say, Corey is one of my best friends father who left years ago, him recruiting you, I don't think we should do anything, not to mention Cam,"
"Friends then?"
"I'm down, homie?"
"Homies, I got you girl"

Darnell and I took a walk instead of me going to Ms. Grace's which I actually forgot to do. I learned a lot about him, and his family, well at least his mom, who is in Germany in the army. He's moved so many times and when Corey came into the picture he had a father figure, but it makes me sad to think about because of Spencer. Spencer didn't have his dad, Darnell did.

Around dinner time, we walked to Ms. Grace's. Darnell and I stood out front about a half hour before I let him go.
"Is this your house?" Darnell asked.
"No, this is Spencer's, but I lived her for a moment when my mom kicked Coop out, long story," I answered.
"I've got to hear this," Darnell said.
"Another time, sir," I stated, "But it was nice to get to know you, see you tomorrow at school?"
"Of course," Darnell said, and gave me his number, "We homies, gotta stay in touch,"
"Thank you for this afternoon,"
"Anytime,"

Darnell and I hugged. When I pulled away he held my waist and kissed me. I didn't stop him either. When it was over, we just walked away. To be honest I don't even know how to feel. Darnell is sweet and caring, and actually respected me more than Cam ever did, but I can't just break up with Cam to be with Darnell it's not that easy. I just shook my head and went into the house. I saw Spencer in there at the table, and ran and gave him and hug.
"I didn't know you were here," I stated.
"Yeah, I wanted to stop by to see everyone, plus I was around," Spencer stated.
"Yeah, Cam told me earlier," I said.
"Why you still with him again?" Spencer laughed.
"Shut up, I want to eat some good food," I slapped him in the arm and sat down.
"So who was that outside?" Spencer asked.
"That new kid at Crenshaw, he wanted to apologize for Cam earlier but I really don't know why because he doesn't know anything,"
"J, I know y'all kissed, what's going on?"
"You we're watching?"
"I wasn't trying to"
"Spencer, I promise you need to talk to your dad about Darnell, it's not my business, but he met up with me earlier and we just got into talking then he kissed me,"
"What about Cam?"
"I don't know"

I don't know about Cam, at all. What am I going to do? Spencer and I talked for about two hours before I left and I feel like I got nowhere. I have no idea what I am going to do. I can't just avoid either of them. The only option I have is pretend like nothing happened. Spencer told me to do what I need to, but that's the thing, I don't know what to do. I don't know if I should stay with Cam or not, but I barely know Darnell.
