Spencer survived surgery, and he wants to go back to football. I'm really proud that he is getting back into football, I know Corey would want that for him. He has to do physical therapy to repair the nerve damage in his shoulder, but he is also going to be practicing with Jordan as well. I even offered to help with Darnell by coaching them, but I'm taking it slow so he can heal properly, I don't need Spencer out for the rest of his life. Football is his passion, and his life, he needs to get back.
Coop hasn't been around much because she feels too guilty for what happened to Spencer. I'm just glad she never went through with actually killing Tyrone, but he did get Preach arrested. I feel bad for Coop honestly, but she needs time to actually get away from the gangs and focus on her music. I hate that she got into the gangs in the first place, I told her not to get to involved with Shawn but now look where it has gotten her, Spencer got shot.
When Spencer left Crenshaw, Shawn came around a lot asking for us to be with him for protection, I told him specifically that I will only be his friend but that gang business is not my deal. Coop should've done the same, but she is also her own person, guaranteed we are twins, she can make her own decisions. A lot has happened this year, and we are only teenagers, this isn't the crap we should be dealing with at such a young age.
Darnell asked me to come and chill with him at the James' residence due to the fact that since the shooting, we haven't had time to really focus on us. Everything recently has been about Spencer, which I'm not going to complain, but we got together and everything around us went down hill. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be, we date, and we have to deal with everything else, who knows.
"Hey homie, I've missed you," Darnell said opening the door, and pulling me in for a kiss.
"I've missed you too," I said, and kissed him back, "This has been a stressful week,"
"You're telling me, but at least we get to have some time together," Darnell stated, and we walked to sit on the couch.
"So what do you want to do?" I asked.
"Just to chill with you, we can sit here and cuddle for all I care," Darnell replied, "I just want some time with you,"
"I'm good with that," I said.
"How's Coop?" Darnell asked.
"Processing, she's distant and guilty, she won't talk to me about anything," I answered, "I wish she would but that's Coop,"
"Coop will come through," Darnell stated.
"I know, I just wish she would talk to me," I said.
"Um, so Spencer and I are visiting UCLA tomorrow, you should come," Darnell said.
"That's good, but I'm going to pass, this is for your future, I'm not going to be a distraction," I replied, "Plus I haven't even thought of college,"
"Do you want to go to college?" Darnell asked.
"I don't know, I haven't decided," I answered, "I don't even know what I want to do,"
"You still got some time, baby, you will figure it out," He said.College hasn't been much of an option for me. I know my parents can afford it, especially after scholarships and aid, but I don't know if that's what I want. My future has always been a blur. I really don't know what I want to do, I have thought about coaching football, but at one point I was thinking about the Olympics for track, then I quit track. I'm glad Darnell is going to UCLA for the visit, even Spencer, but I think it's better if I don't because their visit is more football oriented. If I go, I would just want to know what I need to do in order to be a coach.
Darnell pulled me close to hold me in his arms. I felt so safe in his embrace. I'm so glad that things have seemed to settle down so we can actually focus on the fact that we are dating now. Our lives have been so crazy, but I'm happy we have each other.
"Hey, what did Cam want the other day at the hospital?" Darnell asked.
"He wanted to apologize for how he treated me," I answered, "I explained that leaving him was because I was unhappy and I couldn't do that to myself anymore, but I guess he's happy for us, and he still wants to be friends,"
"He apologized?" He questioned.
"Yeah, I was shocked too" I stated, "But we are good now, and he understands,"
"I'm glad, I thought he was gonna try to take you back," Darnell said.
"I wouldn't let him, don't worry" I said and kissed Darnell.
"Good because now, you're all mine," Darnell said.Darnell leaned over my body. He brought his head down and started kissing me. His hand wrapped around my neck, and I leaned my head back as my back arched. Darnell moved his lips down my neck, and I couldn't help but moan. He kept moving down, and lifted up my shirt, to kiss my sternum. We heard a door, and stopped to sit up. Ms. Grace and Dillion walked in, I felt a little embarrassed.
"Hello," Ms. Grace said, "Having fun?"
"Um, what?" I asked.
"I'm a mother, plus I have eyes," Ms. Grace said and raised her left eyebrow.
"I'm sorry, Grace," Darnell stated, "it won't happen again,"
"It better not, at least on my couch or in the view of young eyes," Ms. Grace sternly said, "Now, I have some homemade lasagna, who's hungry?"
"I am!" Darnell, Dillion and I stated in unison.
