hey guys ! i hope you read this until the end because there's some important things i need to mention!
for starters, i want to say sorry for heavily using aave. i don't do it as much in recent chapters, but in the beginning chapters of 3 am i noticed i did use it a lot, and to my readers who are black, i am very sorry. no one has called me out on this yet, but i feel like i should apologize because i'm not black myself.
i'm hispanic, but i want this book to be a safe space for everyone. i, in no way, meant to offend anyone. i grew up using aave because everyone around me spoke like that, so until recently, i found out that people like me use aave and it's ok and no one cares, but black people can get oppressed, made fun of, or mocked for using their own slang.
i don't really have the time now since i recently just got hired for a job and i start training tomorrow actually. so i don't know what days or hours i'll be working yet. i also start school in two weeks and it's my senior year so i'm rushing to get my summer work done cause i haven't done it yet lol. plus i've been working on other books i'm planning to release and other stuff with college.
BUT, when i do get the time i will go back and edit the chapters to try and take the aave out ! again i'm sorry to my readers who are black who were offended in any way.
i'll try to be more conscious of my writing now.
and feel free to call me out in the future if i forget! i'm still learning what words i can and cannot use, but i have very poor memory so sometimes i do forget. so if i accidentally use aave again, call me out in the comments so i can edit the chapter and take it out !
i honestly never expected for 3 am to get attention. it was something random i thought of based off real like convos and was surprised when i saw people enjoying my stupidity. i'm still surprised when i wake up everyday seeing new people voting, commenting, adding to their lists, and following. i appreciate all the support you guys are giving to 3 am, i hope you will continue to support it 💗
