Don't care anymore

The next morning, you wake up, you have not slept very well. You go downstairs, everyone is having breakfast.
You : « hi guys »
Everyone : « hi »
Payton looks at you but he is a little uncomfortable, like everyone else actually. You notice it but you decide to ignore him and go sit next to Cynthia.

Cynthia : « you okay ? » to you, in a low voice.
You nod as if nothing had happened.
Cynthia : « k.. »
You eat and talk a little with the girls, then you go back upstairs to get ready.

Madi : « she's weird, isn't she ? »
Cynthia : « yeah she's... idk, it's like she forgot »
Talia : « I'll go see her »
Madi : « yeah »
Cynthia nods.

So, a few minutes later, Talia goes upstairs and knocks at your door.
You : « yeah ? »
Talia : « can I come in ? »
You : « sure »
She enters but does not see you.
Talia : « y/n ? »
You : « I'm in the bathroom, I'm coming »
Talia : « oh okay » going to sit on your bed.

You take a little while, so she starts talking to you to see how you feel.
Talia : « you seem to be doing better, ...that's cool »
You : « what a great introduction » raising your eyes, smiling a bit.
You : « very subtle » coming out of the bathroom.
Talia : « nah but it's just... idk, you look better yeah. Are you ? »
You : « well, if you wanna know everything, I feel better yes » smiling a bit.
Talia : « and can we know why ? » smiling, proud of you.
You : « because.. I decided not to care anymore about all the negative things that could ruin this trip »
Talia : « well, that's a good decision ig »
You : « yeah »
You : « and, I think I'll say yes to Liam »
Talia : « really ? »
You : « yes »
Talia : « okayy... what about the negative things ? » 🤡
You : « you're talking of Payton ? »
Talia : « yeah and maybe the guys too »
You : « and maybe Cynthia too... but idc, you told me to do things according to me and not the others right ? That's what I do »
Talia : « are you sure this is what you want ? »
You : « I think so, ...I just wanna have fun, and not think about anything else »
Talia : « yeah, I understand.. so, you'll go with Liam ? »
You nod.
Talia : « k.. »
Talia : « ...well, what about me now ? Who am I supposed to go with ? » sighing.
You : « idk, there are all the boys, right ? »
You : « except Chase ofc »
Talia : « yeah »
You : « you can go with Josh » 🤷🏻‍♀️
Talia : « Josh ? »
You : « yeah, he's nice, and you guys look good together »
You : « plus, you won't be bored with him »
Talia : « yeah, maybe »
You : « or go with Payton »
Talia : « nah nah nah- » smiling a bit.
You : « why not ? » smiling a bit.
Talia : « I don't wanna get involved in your relationship or whatever. If you don't wanna see him with another girl, go with him, cause I won't »
You sigh a bit.
You : « as you want, but hurry up and pick one before they're all taken »
Talia : « yeah, I'll find someone dw »
Talia : « ...well, so.. doesn't it bother you that Payton is gonna come with another girl ? »
You : « um.. tbh... I was hoping he would go with one of you actually »
Talia : « well, the only one left is Clara, so... »
You : « what ? What about Madi ? »
Talia : « she goes with Jaden apparently » 🤷🏻‍♀️
You : « with Jaden ? » frowning a bit.
Talia : « yeah »
You : « well... it's okay, idc who he goes with »
Talia : « sure » raising her eyes a little.
Talia : « ...and, did you tell Payton about Liam and the gala ? »
You : « tbh, I think he already knows it.. »
Talia : « oh, yeah... »
You : « well, now we have to buy some dresses » 😌
Talia : « yesss » smiling all excited.
Talia : « oh no wait, I think Trent got some stylists, as it's a very important thing you know. They're coming this afternoon I think »
You : « oh.. okay, well, I hope the dresses will be beautiful »
Talia : « yeah I hope so »
Talia : « okay, I'm gonna get dressed, see you later »
You : « yeah, bye »

On the boys side :
Jaden : « well guys, did you find someone to go to the gala with you ? »
Chase : « yes, Cynthia » 😌
Jaden : « ofc, but, the others »
Dylan : « nope »
Josh : « I think I'll ask Talia »
Jaden : « okay yeah, Jackson ? »
Jackson : « no I don't have anyone yet »
Jaden : « and you Payton ? »
He is in his thoughts, so he does not answer. Jaden sighs, shaking his head a little.
Jackson : « well, wbu ? » to Jaden.
Jaden : « I go with Madi »
Jackson : « oh okay- »
Payton comes back to reality.
Payton : « she'll go with Liam... » as if he had just admitted it to himself.
Jaden : « ofc she'll go with him- »
Chase : « Jaden. »
Jaden : « sorry but, it's obvious.. »
Payton looks away, sad.
Dylan : « and everyone has to come accompanied ? » still hoping not.
Josh : « yup »
Payton : « no but fr ? Can't we go alone ?.. »
Jaden : « no you can't, so you guys better hurry up and find someone because it's coming soon »
They sigh.
