Loathsome grin
Eyes on mine
Do you expect me to tremble?
To drop my wine?I'll take a sip
And raise a brow
I know you have no power
Your words can't hurt me nowTell the world
For all I care
Let them gasp, point,
And stareWhat treasures have I,
That I may lose?
Except perhaps,
This glass of boozeI grasp it gently
Fingers loose
Your threats will no longer
Tie my nooseMy actions are done
They cannot be changed
Now only the future
Is to be arrangedYou think that I'm scared?
Not of you anymore
The only thing you've done
Is left my ego quite soreYou straighten your tie,
I toss my hair
I wonder if you see
I no longer careWhat will you do?
Are you going to tell?
Then rip the bandaid now,
Might as wellOr not, I suppose
You have little time
If you're lucky you'll have
But one more rhymeAs you fall to the carpet,
I'll down my crystal glass
When you wake you'll have learned your lesson
You don't mess with this lassI set my emptied drink
Atop the bar
Stroll out the door
Get in my carWill you even remember,
A thing that has occurred?
Maybe, maybe not,
Not from what I've heardI smile in the mirror
I fix my hair
Knowing once more I shall vanish
Into thin air
