Chapter 1: 3 Days

    3 days. That was how long Nico had to stay in the infirmary.

    Correction: He had to stay 3 days in the infirmary with Will.

    3 days of medical recovery where he had to somehow hide his secret.

    Nico had accepted he had a crush on Will a while ago, but he knew there was nothing he could do about it. If he did date Will, Will would be even more likely to find out the secret than he was right now. The thought of Will knowing terrified him.

    Plus, he didn't even know if Will was gay, just an ally, homophobic, anything.

    The door opened, and Nico tensed. Will walked in with a cheerful expression on his face. Nico imagined Will was his executioner, and Nico was being led to his death. The thought of this sunshiny boy that wouldn't hurt a fly as an executioner made him smile, but not in the normal way. In the way where his eyes lit up just slightly, but the rest of his face remained exactly the same. It was the only way Nico smiled now.

    "Hey Nico! Sorry about the wait! I bumped into Kayla on the way here and I let her know I'd be taking care of you for the next few days. We won't be doing to much; you're mostly just on bedrest and getting cleaned up. Nothing Major. I'll just be doing a quick and fast checkup today, since it's kind of late, and tomorrow we'll cover leftover injuries from the war. You won't have to do much of anything on day 3 but the full body examination to make sure you have fully recovered from shadow traveling before you leave. Sound good?"

    No Nico thought "Sure" he mumbled still, knowing there was no way out of this.

    "Great!" said Will, as he got out his clip board and started the usual checkup routine. It actually wasn't too bad, and they were done soon.

    "That's all! See you tomorrow bright and early Death Boy!"

    "Don't call me Death Boy" Nico said. At least Will didn't suspect anything.

    "Whatever you say Neeks!" Will replied.

    Nico groaned and waited until Will had left until he sat back down on the bed. He then started changing into the clothes Will had left for him to sleep in. It was a pair of pajamas covered in little suns that was much to big for him, but that was good.

    Two more days in the infirmary.

    Two more days in the infirmary with Will.

    Two more days in the infirmary, with Will, where Nico had to hide the fact that he was trans male.
