Lola's apartment, 9:03 pm

Lola looked in the mirror one more time before she slammed her bedroom door shut. She looked hot as hell, even she knew that.

Her makeup was done right today. Jenn and her had done theirs on FaceTime together (of course, Jenn's came out better, but Lola was still proud of her own). Her dark eyelashes were genuinely sky-high, with a hot pink, winged eyeliner, bright pink blush and lipstick to match, with a perfect highlight on her cheeks and contoured nose. She wore a white, pleather tank top with a neon pink mini-skirt that matched her makeup to a T. Her shoes were her normal frat-party sneakers with holes in the bottoms and dirt caking nearly the entire shoe of each foot. Her hair was curled into soft beach waves, but she knew those were bound to get ruined after twenty minutes of dancing and getting alcohol spilt all over her. Not to mention in the hectic winter weather of New York.

After class and before her FaceTime with Jenn, Lola took her time in the shower. She shaved her legs, and lathered herself with her pristine lavender body wash. Her shampoo and conditioner were most certainly not skipped over. She scrubbed her teeth until they bled and then practically got drunk on mouthwash. She moisturized with her matching lavender lotion and then sprayed herself with her flowery scented perfume. Everything had to be perfect.

The one thing Lola wasn't so sure about was her nails. She let Jenn help pick them out on Wednesday night. They were absolutely gorgeous, a baby pink with each ring finger's nail coated in the most stunning silver glitter, but Jenn liked to keep her nails much longer than Lola and she wasn't used to it whatsoever. She felt nervous about it, but they looked so good it was okay for now, letting it slip from her mind. Because other than that, she felt perfect.

She grabbed a zip-up sweatshirt off the kitchen table, kissed her father goodbye, waved to her other brothers (who were making funny faces at her from the couch, sipping beer with Dad), and quickly made her way out of her apartment while tugging the hoodie on over her shoulders.

Two minutes ago, Peter texted Lola for the first time since they worked on their biology research lab together. Though it was a simple text reading nothing more than "I'm here," it was enough to grant Lola a zoo of butterflies in her stomach. Maybe she could keep the texts going after tonight. Maybe they wouldn't stop this time. She responded with "kk five mins" except she didn't want to keep the poor boy waiting in the cold for that long.

So Lola hurled herself down the stairs, not caring to wait for the elevator, sprinting the entire way, and then flung herself through the double doors of the apartment building, only to come face-to-face with Peter Parker himself.
