Chapter 6-Teamwork

Angela followed Moira through the corridors of the base. Tracer and Widow left a few minutes ago and since O'Deorain needed her help she had stayed. Mercy never saw the other woman as a real friend. Of course she didn't hate the Blackwatch agent, they were colleagues and had worked together from time to time. At least this was before the time Overwatch got shut down, after that their ways split up and Moira became a part of Talon. To be honest Angela would love to have more contact with Moira. The scientist is very smart and even if her methods were always a little bit cruel and dangerous, she helped Overwatch and Blackwatch a lot and saved many lives. Both doctors turned around a corner and slowly Mercy started to wonder how big the base actually was. ,,Moira, what is this place?" ,,This is one of Blackwatchs underground HQ's. Or at least it was supposed to be one. Jack and Gabriel worked together on it so that the agents would have their own base. With this building, Blackwatch could have worked even quieter, just like a shadow. But unfortunately, Overwatch got shut down before this could happen. Many rooms here are still not finished and miss equipment or a few walls." Angela smiled:,,But why did I never hear of it before?" ,,They wanted to keep it a secret. Only Jack and Gabe knew about it. They wanted to tell everyone once everything is done." ,,Makes sense.", Mercy said sadly. Of course Overwatch was shut down for a reason and some members turned into criminals but back then the organization and its members always tried their best to keep the peace and do something good. Sometimes Angela wondered if the Petras Act really was the right decision. Especially right now she doubts it because Talon and Overwatch are working together just to restore peace. It seems the former Overwatch members didn't lose their sense of justice. Hopefully both organizations will work together for good in her own timeline at some point as well.    
They finally reached Moira's lab. They entered the rather big room, which looked pretty cozy and nice in Angela's opinion. There were computers, shelves, and tables on the left side of the room but also a refrigerator, a couch and a CD Player on the right side. ,,Wow Moira, this lab looks beautiful. You must spend a lot of time here." ,,Yes I do. Sometimes I need to wait for new test results. That's why I have a couch in here. But to be honest I prefer my old lab. I at least had some windows there. Here I slowly start to feel like a vampire. " The other doctor chuckled. ,,So what do we have to do now?" ,,Well, Sombra's virus is already done. We two only have to look, how a test subject would react when the virus deactivates the little computer chips, that make the mind-controlling possible." Angela started to become nervous. She never liked testing new technology or medical equipment on living beings. Also, where should they get a test subject from? She really hoped Moira didn't ask her for help just because she needed one. O'Deorain noticed the doctor's reaction and laughed while walking to the left side of the room:,,Don't worry Angela. You are not here because I need you as a test subject. In fact, I found a better way to study new viruses." Angela couldn't believe it.:,,What? That's incredible. How are you going to do it?" ,,Well actually Winston and Sombra came up with the idea and you and I just tested it. It all happened when Overwatch and Talon started working together." Angela sat down next to Moira, who was now sitting in front of one of the computers and started typing wildly on one of the keyboards. After a few minutes she looked back up from the monitor. ,,The program I just started was made by our two computer geniuses. It will help us analyze the virus without putting anyone in danger. It works for every type of virus, I just have to type in some information about it and wait. Later it will give me some data, which I just need to analyze then. This is where I need your help. I might be a scientist and doctor, but you just have the better knowledge in the latter." Mercy flushed a bit:,,Thanks, I can help you no problem." ,,I just wished this would work for more than just viruses." ,,I was just thinking the same thing.", Mercy said and both of them smiled. It was still unbelievable for Angela, that Moira didn't use real test subjects anymore. It seemed Overwatch and Talon made a good team. If they could create a computer program, that can analyze viruses, then they could probably create even more and better things, that could make the earth a better place. ,,You know Angela... I know you are not from this timeline, but I didn't manage to say sorry yet." Mercy was clearly confused",,What? Why are you sorry?" ,,Because of the methods I used. Also, I betrayed you and Overwatch, by joining Talon. I told them a lot about my research and the rest of Overwatch. It is probably the biggest mistake I've ever made." Angela lay her hand on Moira's shoulder:,, It's alright. What happened is in the past and what matters right now is just the future. Also, Overwatch and Talon are working together right now and you are helping to defeat NullSector." Mercy smiled. ,,Thank you Angela. You can be sure, no matter what happens I'll do the right thing from now on. I just hope Talon and Overwatch will keep working together in the future if we survive this." ,,Yeah, I would really like that idea as well." Suddenly the computer made a sound. ,,Ah, the program is done. Can you make out any side effects the virus might have from the information?" Angela scanned the data. It took her a few minutes to look at everything. The program really seemed to work well. ,, Besides a small chance of dizziness there shouldn't be any side effects. Sombra did a good job." ,,Alright, how about we tell the others? I'm sure they will be happy about the news, also Tracer and Widow should be back by now." Angela nodded and they made their way back. She hoped the others were just as successful as them. The virus was ready, now they would only need a good plan.
