****AUDREY’S P.O.V.****

I saw Darcy getting angrier and angrier. My instinct told me to run and so did my memory. I winced slightly at the memory of my arm snapping when I hadn’t gone away when she had gotten this mad. I rolled away and positioned myself against a tree, ready to jump up and disappear between the leaves.

The sky darkened faster and the forest grew quiet. I saw dark rain clouds coming in fast and wanted to get Darcy into safety. But I stayed, she would survive a little rain, maybe it would even cool her down.

She screamed, but I didn’t hear it. I watched in horror as thunder shook the air and lightning split the ground not two meters away from her. I stood in one second, ready to run for Darcy and grab her. Lightning hit twice more at the same distance, but she didn’t seem affected.

The clouds didn’t disappear but I watched them with relief as the lightning stopped. They had hit to close to my sister for comfort.

A red glow on the ground caught my attention. I stared in horror at the fire lashing out, swirling around Darcy. She looked scary in that light. Her hair had a sort-of red tint to it and her eyes had the same red tint.

That was the last drop I could take. I sprinted froward and grabbed Darcy’s arm. The fire died away, but it started pouring and thunder shook the air and I saw trees stumble. Lightning missed my face by two inches and I let Darcy go, running for safety.

I turned around when I was under the tree again. Darcy was looking at me with a strange expression and I dodged the lightning bolt that would have hit my heart. Instead it hit the tree and I watched as it split in two. This wasn’t natural anymore.

I gulped and now was really scared. I felt that this was the drop that made it too much and my knees shook. I felt something change inside me. I looked around and saw that Darcy looked at me and the look in her eyes scared me even further. I fell to my hands and knees, shaking with fear.

The wind picked up and swirled around me. I didn’t notice it until I realized that Darcy’s hair wasn’t moving. There was no wind where she was standing. I was now so scared that I felt that I could burst with it. She tried to tell me something with her eyes but I was too distracted by the fact that the wind was now only around me.

Air swirled around me like the magical feeling had done to my heart and I felt the same pain. Grass was pulled out of the ground and the rain mixed in. I could barely see my sister, but had a feeling she was close. I was right.

****DARCY’S P.O.V.****

I regained sanity when I saw the lightning bolt miss Audrey and split the tree. The worst part was the feeling that I had ordered it to go at her. The tree split with a terrifying crack and I shuddered at the thought that it could have Audrey that had been hit.

I watched her now and her terror-struck eyes that were as big as plates. Something about her stance reminded me of an animal ready to flee, if things got to bad. She looked up and at me. Her eyes reminded me of those I had seen on a dead doe. Filled with fear of everything around her.

I tried to tell her that I was sorry through my eyes but I don’t think she got it. She looked different more like an animal then like a human and I think that was written in my eyes. She fell on her knees and dug her fingers into the ground.

The wind stopped but around her I saw that it just picked up. She was sort-of in her own mini-tornado. She looked like she was about to burst with fear and I tried to tell her to stay strong with my eyes. The wind around her was now pulling out grass and the rain that poured down was mixed in with it.

I ran closer and tried to get through the barrier the wind made. I fought, punched and kicked it but it was no use. Once I got through far enough to see her and she was plain shaking. She looked like a drowned cat: really wet and really scared.
