Giselle's POV:

I figured out my way to the area where we eat lunch. I wasn't really hungry so instead of braving the ridiculously long line, I found an empty table at the back corner of the room. I sat stiffly and tried to get a feel of the room. Most people sat conversing at tables while others were standing around and loitering at different tables to catch up with their friends after summer. I tried to not look like I wanted to puke from the nerves and slight embarrassment of sitting alone. I ended up pulling my book I was currently reading out of my bag and reading the same page over and over.

"Hello!" I hear a bubbly but also regal voice say. I let my gaze travel to the person speaking and it lands on this beautiful girl who is tall and honestly looks expensive. "Hi" I reply shyly. "I'm Cassandra, Cassandra Lumely but you can call me Cass. Everyone here does. You must be Giselle. You're even more gorgeous than everyone is saying!" she says all of this in almost one breath. "Um yes I'm Giselle but just call me Elle. People have been talking about me?" my voice has a slight shake from hearing that the other students know of me and are speaking about me.

"Oh of course they have. At Coventry everyone knows everyone and most things don't stay a secret for long. Some of these chaps are just gossip mills, however I find it quite repulsive.'' She breathes clearly annoyed with her peers. I giggle a little and say "I'm used to it, my old school was exactly the same way. I can only imagine the rumors that have emerged about me now that I've left the country." "You're from California? I've always wanted to go there. It seems so luxurious and expensive." Cass practically has hearts in her eyes from the thought of California and a credit card.

"Wait, your last name is Lumely? Is Flynn your brother? I met him a bit earlier." I ask her quickly before she gets back into her dreamy state of the west coast. "Oh him. Yeah we are twins. Even though I'm 2 minutes older. He'll never admit it though." she says with a little eye roll. "Speaking of him, he's coming this way now with his best friend Blake." I turned my head to the direction she was looking to see Flynn approaching with who I assume is Blake.

"Hey Cass." the two boys speak this in unison before their eyes zero in on me. "Giselle, hi." Flynn breathes heavily. I give a shy wave and turn my eyes back towards Cass and question her with my eyes why his behavior changed when he spoke to me.

"I don't believe we have met. I'm Blake Emerson." the boy who approached with Flynn said. "Hi, I'm Giselle but call me Elle." I said with a small smile. He was cute, but Flynn was cuter. Except Blake was much less scary. I felt a blush flutter across my cheeks as both of the boys stared at me from the corner of their eyes. I diverted my eyes from both of the boy's directions and focused my eyes back on the page. As I was reading, my mind wandered back to my mom. I really needed to talk to her. I send her messages before bed and when I wake up, but I needed to hear her voice. I suddenly felt overwhelmed. My mom isn't with me for the first time in my life and I just feel alone.

"Excuse me, I need to go to ladie's room. It was nice meeting all of you." As soon as these words escaped my mouth, I stood and left the cafe. I wandered the halls not really looking for the bathroom like I said I was. In my dreamlike state, I wasn't watching where I was going and bumped into the girl from my first period. "Can you watch where you're going new girl? You almost messed up my new top." The blondie screeched. "I-I'm sorry, it was a total accident." I stammered these words in fear of her lashing out again. "Ugh whatever just watch it." With that last statement she sashayed off and left me looking like a blubbering fool in the hallway.
