Giselle's POV:

I groaned at the alarm ringing through my bedroom at 5:30 in the morning. I grabbed my pillow and tried to suffocate myself with it. I of course gave up after a few moments and decided to just get up and get ready for the day. I did my shower routine and all the good jazz before putting on my outfit. I stood in front of my mirror on my door and decided to take a photo to send to my mom. I smiled at the photo and also put it on my instagram story. I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs for a quick meal.

When I got downstairs, my father was reading the paper with a cup of tea in his hand. Caspen immediately jumped up when he saw me and began to whine until I pet his head. I made some toast and snacked on it as me and my dad chatted. When I finished breakfast, my father started the car and warmed it up as I was making sure Caspen was using the bathroom. When he finished, I ran to the passenger side of my dad's car and cuddled up to the heat vents. "How far is my school?" I asked my dad as we began our trek through the cold morning. "Not too far away, about 20 minutes." he said in his accent. I nodded and just closed my eyes and let my thoughts float around.

We pulled up to my large school which looked more like a college campus. In California I thought my school was big, but it didn't begin to compare to this school. I looked at my dad nervously and tried to scope out the school before I had to go in. "Elle, don't be nervous. You're one of the smartest kids I know and you were allowed into this school for a reason." my dad said to me as he noticed my nervous look. "Thank you... I know I can do this, it's just it's a big change from my old school." I said in response to his sweet comment. He looked at me with sympathy and said "I get it, but you have to go in there and be brave. You are your mother's daughter after all." He chucked that last bit and probably thought he was the funniest person in the world. "On that note, I think I'll head inside." I said with a roll of my eyes.

I stepped out of the car and took a deep breath of the clean air. I let my eyes wander a bit and saw other students milling about the parking lot in close groups. It would be hard to make friends if everyone here already has tight-knit groups. I didn't let that deter me from being positive, so I tightened my backpack on my shoulder and walked inside of the school. I assumed I would need to go to the main office to get my schedule and locker, so I walked up to the first person I saw so that I could get directions.
