love.

"love, i wish you full of love and happiness in your life," said her dying mother. valentine's vision is now blurry because of the tears that kept flowing. she holds her pale mother's hand tightly, scared that she will leave her that second.

"mom, please don't leave me, stay strong for me" valentine cried. her mother just smiled and caressed her precious daughter's wet cheek. "do you know why we named you valentine?" her mother weakly asked. valentine shook her head.

"it's because you were born on valentine's day" she chuckled. "it was the happiest day of my life and your father gave the idea for it" remembering her father, valentine frowned and held her fist. she doesn't want to remember the tragic incident that happened between her mother and father.

a year ago, they divorced because her mother found out that her father has been cheating on her with another woman. she always thought that her father loved her mother dearly and sincerely but no, it was all a lie. since then, she hated her father with guts and stopped believing such thing as love.

"promise me val, you have to love other people truly and sincerely, don't be like your father. love is the only thing that makes people move forward and not giving up" she coughed and it made valentine worry. "mom, just rest, don't talk"

"no honey, i'm telling you this because my time is near" she is getting weaker, her soft voice is getting quieter and barely audible but valentine still listens.

"but also, don't be like me. you need to accept love for yourself and be smart, don't let yourself fall in love with a man who doesn't deserve your love. don't be like me, i fell too deep into his love that i can't seem to get myself out of it" she chuckled to herself.

"so, if a man hurts you or doesn't love you anymore, let go of him. he is no good for you. one day, you'll find someone who will love you as for who you are and be sincere about it"

valentine sighed to herself while remembering her mother's dying wish. caressing her boyfriend's cheek, she smiled. she did what her mother asked her to do.

believing in love again.
