All she felt was a pounding head ache as soon as her eyes opened, almost like it was pulsing. She blinked a few times as her eyes adjusted to the sunlight that beamed into her room. Lani looked around her room after noticing she hadn't fallen asleep in her bed. She couldn't remember exactly what happened after Meredith had picked her up, but all she knew was that she ended up in her gaming chair in front of her pc which seemed to go into rest mode.

Lani sat up straight in the chair and stretched her arms and legs out while yawning, she wasn't sure where her phone was or what time it was. But as she approached her window it looked as if it was earlier in the day, the street was nosier then usual which also helped point it out. She stared out into the streets and let out a few solid breathes as her head continued to pound.

Walking to her bed she found her phone in the middle of it connected to her charger, thankfully. She opened her phone to see a bunch of missed messages from her mom, meredith, jenny, and the two most random being george and clay. She looked through the messages avoiding her moms as it seemed to just be another issue. Merediths text was actually informing Lani about VidCon which happened to be taking place in California this year, and was only a month away. Meredith was asking if she planned on going because the committee running the event was interested in her appearance, lani looked up the event quickly on her phone and looked at the attending list.

It was all the influencers she could think of beauty, crime, bloggers, vloggers, gamers, and just an endless list of creators. This was the first big over night event lani had found herself invited to that involved meeting fans. Looking at her phone, she raised her eyebrow slightly as she looked at the gamers tag, she clicked on it out a curiosity spike and looked for the top gaming creators and not to her surprise she seem everyone who was in the event she had been in, including clay and george.

She quickly texted Meredith back to book the traveling and hotel rooms, and if possible look for the best food places around. She looked over to where she had previously fell asleep and decided to go over to her pc, it wasn't something she had shown the most attention to, and as it turned on her discord was already opened, it also was in a chat. More specifically a call with george, clay, quackity and sapnap. She had never really spoken to sapnap, and her first instinct was to find out what happened, she scrolled to the top of the chat to see she was added randomly and that the call lasted 5 hours, her eyebrows raised as she grabbed her phone and opened clays contact.

She regularly called him, putting the phone on speaker as she looked through her discord for more evidence on what happened after she got home. "Hello?" Lani jumped slightly, but then looked down at the phone. "Oh shit, hey clay," she looked back up at the computer and found nothing more. "Hey Lani what's up?" he asked, she looked down at the phone to see the time flash 12pm. "I just have a question," she replied, "and the question is?"

"What'd we talk about in that call last night?" she asked, "the discord call?" he asked for confirmation. "Was there more then one call?" she asked, she heard him choke up slightly. "Yeah, I called you, and then you said you had to feed your ducks, and then you called me again and told me how you didn't have any ducks and asked what i was doing," her eyes widened as she tried to recall any of those memories. "Why would I have ducks?" she asked with a slight chuckle, clay beginning to laugh as well.

"No clue, but I then said i was on a call and you asked if I could add you, i asked you twice if you were sure and you said yes, we talked for like two hours and i think everyone dropped from the call," now lani had a confused expression as she looked up at the call, "are you sure it says i was on the call for five hours," she scratched her head as she looked at the discord messages. "Maybe someone stayed on with you, i was the first one to drop i'm not sure," he responded, she couldn't tell if he was really unsure as his voice seemed to lack expression, and lingered with tiredness.

"Oh well, that's interesting.. you should go take a nap you sound exhausted," she practically heard him yawning as he stretched out. "I am, but i have one question for you," his voice suddenly peaked with excitement, "and that is?" she asked, "are you going to VidCon?"

"Yes actually i just confirmed it, all for next month," she responded, "it's gonna be great, the worlds gonna see me for the first time, and i'm gonna meet george, and quackity and even all the guys from the UK," he was tired rambling now, but it was enjoyable for her to listen to his excitement, and it slowly began to hit her that she really didn't have someone to look forward to see as much as he did. But in all honesty she was quite excited to see her new friends as that could possibly help them all blend more on the internet.

"It's gonna be fun. You're gonna face reveal?" she asked, she now actually heard him yawn, "yeah, just gonna be like hey i'm dream smiley face blob guy," he chuckled. "Okay dream smiley face blob guy i think it's time for you to go to bed," she heard him mutter an agreement and bid her farewell as she ended the call.

As she stood up, it was almost like a second after as her phone began to ring again, she looked down at it as it vibrated in her hand and read the contact name. Once again she found herself shocked that her mom was calling her, she quickly answered it as her mom never really called her ever. "Hello?" she mumbled, a feeling in her chest dropped as she heard her mom sniffing, "hey lani baby," her mom choked, she sounded as if she was holding back the most painful sobs. "Are you okay?" lani asked, the line went silent, she waited a few seconds, "hello?" she took a seat again as her legs began to feel weak.

"Momma, are you okay?" lani asks, once again the line was silent, "he's gone," was all she heard in a slight whisper, "he's gone," her mom whispered again, "who's gone?" lani asked, her hand began shaking in a state of anxiousness. "Pops, pops is gone lani, my husband lani," she felt her heart drop as her mom struggled to even say the sentence, her phone fell out of her hand, and as if the whole world disappeared, she felt the phone tatter against the floor in a loud echo as she felt herself in closed.

She began to feel her chest rise as her pulse quickened, she felt it getting harder and harder for her to breathe, she heard her phone finally fall flat on the floor as she felt tears begin to fall down her face, lining her cheek and meeting her jaw line, the stream of tears only getting worse in worse as she feels her chest burning as she felt her heart beating out of her chest, and her breathes only getting fainter and fainter. She felt her vision haze as she heard her moms voice yelling for her to answer, she looked down at the phone and tried to reach for it only
before she collapsed.
