Louis P.O.V
From fresh green leaves and colourful bursts from flower petals, the scorching heat from cloudless rich blue skies- though it's England. To red, yellow and orange leaves flickering in the chilly breeze, falling effortlessly to the floor to reveal a few bare branches along the trees, rich blue skies turning a cold blue that seems icy if you could touch.
There's pumpkins littering outside the house and on the fireplace in the front room.
Summer's ended and autumn has made itself known.
It's October now and though we're not as Halloween crazy as America, we still enjoy the decorating and dressing up. I do prefer Christmas but I want to make it a special Halloween for the children, get them in the spirit of death and autumn and the change from autumn to winter.
I got them in the spirit yesterday by scaring them every opportunity I could get, hiding behind the door and jumping out at them when they walk into the room. I found it funny, Harry wasn't too happy about it.
At one point, Natalie got so scared, her natural instinct was to scream and punch me in the face. (I was crawling on the floor with a clown mask on from behind the door, it's not like I'm the same height as her, okay?) I wasn't too happy about it, Harry found it funny.
I tiptoe, trying to string the last parts of the fake cobwebs up onto the ceiling. I throw a plastic spider up in the air and it catches onto the web, staring down.
Harry comes in with the kids, Natalie carrying a pumpkin and Harry balancing the other two in his arms. He dumps them on the kitchen island and goes back outside to grab the other two.
"Right, these lot wanted to make more pumpkins. Good job I bought a whole load!" He states, going into the cupboard for a bowl. He looks up and around at the hanging cobwebs. "Nice touch. Hope you have more spirit at Christmas."
I put my hand on my hip. "Excuse me, Harold, I am the king of Christmas. Christmas has nothing matched on my spirit on the matter. As soon as tonight is over, that Christmas playlist will be on and whacked on full blast!"
"I love Christmas!" Darcy inputs.
"Ch'ismas!" Robin cheers. "Santa come!"
"He does, bud, good job, little sparrow!" I pick him up and toss him, making him scream in delight.
"Right, let's make these pumpkins then, shall we?" Harry cuts the tops off the pumpkins and the kids begin scooping the innards out. "I'll make a soup with these later."
I grab my pumpkin and begin scooping the innards out. "Hey, Harry," I say. He turns and I plop a handful of innards on his head.
His mouth flies open and I snort, stepping back, hands in surrender. "'M sorry, I just had to."
"You're going to pay for that one, Tomlinson," He growls, jaw set.
"Aw, come on, Haz! You gotta shower later anyway!"
"I had one this morning!"
I sniff near him. "You sure? You smell funny."
He darts toward me and I yelp, running around the island as he tries to catch me .
"You know all too well I had one this morning, tiny, get back here!" He goes left and I go right.
The kids watch on, spoons midway to going back in their pumpkins.
"Get him, daddy!" Natalie giggles.
I look over to her. "Oi! Thought you were on my side!"
"Get him, papi!" She replies.
