- Present Day -

Saturday

"Well, that certainly explains why's he's been even more unreachable than usual." You sip your coffee as Argyris finishes telling you about Chloe and today being the day she moves in. Although its been years since you were intimate, or even trying to be a couple you still hated it when he went off with other women and, not to anyones surprise, he wasn't exactly short of options.

"Y/N, you can't hate him forever..... you haven't exactly made it a piece of cake for him have you."  Argyris just looks at you, pointing the top of his beer in your direction. You narrow your eyes at him, it wasn't like you hadn't tired and at the beginning things were off to a good start, but then it slipped, Mickey wanted to have his cake and eat it.

"Does she know...about Hector?" You down at your cup swirling the drink round, Hector was at his friends house so you'd used the day to find out what was going on properly from the man that new all, rather than the faint unwilling whispers from friends. Eleni was looking after the shop.

"Yes, I think he's expressed how much he loves seeing him and she wants to help him" the usually chirpy man says in a slow voice.

"Help him what?" You look up, a cold feeling washes over you... flicking up the sunglasses you had on to really look at him. The panic written all over your face.

"Take custody, fully or at least equally..." he drifts off already knowing he's said too much...although you were like a daughter to him, epically after the death of your father three years ago, he actually liked Chloe, and again despite wanting nothing more than for you two to get past the problems and get back together, Chloe did seem to be helping him mature, very slowly admittedly.

"Over my dead body will he be taking full custody of Hector..." You feel a sting in your heart at the thought of someone else being a full time motherly figure for your own son no matter how lovely and responsible she was.

"Seriously Y/N... if you spend your life punishing him and pushing him away... there's going to be nothing you can do to get him back and your son won't benefit form any fighting."

"Who says I want him back?"

"Its written all over your face..." That had been the second time someone had said that too you this week, the other being a friend of Mickey's who was now a famous singer/song writer.

"I'm just trying to do what's best for Hector... he's needs constancy.

"I know, but you have to give them man time to adapt. It all changed very quickly.

"I did Argyris and where did it get me?"

"I'm seeing him later, we have a new client"

"I'm really pleased, I know he loves what he does" and you meant that with all your heart, it filled you with joy to see him make something he was proud of, that the clients liked and it gave you butterflies when he'd play the piano... singingly softly to himself when he though no one could hear him.

"I'll tell him we spoke?"

"No, you won't...."

"Fine fine" he puts his hands up in surrender before sipping his beer. "Listen, maybe things will..."

You cut him off  not being able to handle your feelings anymore. "He won't return my calls, at least not while she's there...he promised Hector a day trip since its the half term... will you make sure you remind him..."
