The Keepers 01 - Flames

It was just an ordinary day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing their sweet melodies and the flowers were releasing their sweet aromas.

Then suddenly a flash of light! A portal from another world appeared. A man in a black hood came out of the portal.

"This place looks terrible!" Said the man."So, the great Emoke has been hiding out here," he said with a haunting smile.

A man approached the newcomer. "Welcome to Excellis traveler, may I know your name?" the man said with a welcoming smile.

"WHY SHOULD I TELL YOU!?!?!" the hooded man shouted angrily.

"You see, I am the tows's Superior," he said, "I must know your name and the reason why you came to our place."

"Do you see this!?!" he said while showing the officer the mark on his hand.

"I'm very sorry to have disturbed you mr. Keeper," the officer said with a hint of regret in his voice. "So mr. Keeper, why are you here?"

"I am searching for a man who may or may not have magic."

"Ummm, could you be more specific?"

"It's been 30 years since our last encounter, i don't know what he looks like anymore."

"In this town, there is only one person who can manipulate the powers of Eithelus. Come, let's talk about it through dinner." he said while walking the man to his house.

 "Here we are," he said while entering through a walkway. "Please sit down Mr. Keeper" he said as he was pulling up a chair. "25 years ago, a man much like yourself wandered into town, he was badly injured. We all came to his aid. He said that he was a Flame Keeper and that someone ambushed him and tried to kill hi-"

"BULLCRAP!!! He was a criminal and he knew that people would go after him if he stole the Tablet!"

"Ummm, Mr. Keeper,"

"Oh, sorry, Please continue."

"He told us that The Cultists ambushed him and tried to kill him. He also said that if he died, we were to bury him where we found him."

"Where did you bury him?"

"Out by the monument."

"Could you take me there?"

"Very well Mr. Keeper."

"Please, call me Damon."

"Very well, Damon."

As they were walking to the monument, a loud noise caught their attention.

"HELP! FIRE!" a woman shouted frantically.

"Damon, could you please help us put out the fire?" said the officer in an almost pleading voice.

"Very well."

They then rushed of to the place where the inferno blazed on. Damon unhooded his cloak and recited an incantaion. the marks on his hand suddenly started glowing. He then pulled out a crossbow and shot glowing arrows into the sky. A wall of water suddenly formed around the structure, putting out the inferno.

The crowed cheered.

Damon looked at the ashes of the burnt building. He then saw a character in a red hood walking away from the structure. He followed the mysterious character to a shack with the mark of the Flame Keepers burned on the ground.

He inspected the exterior of the shack when he heard a voice, "Please come in Damon."
