The Keepers 05 - A Test Of Faith

Alice ran as fast as she could through the dark and winding ways of the armory. She slid and sprinted until she could see the light of the outside. She made it, but the guards were still after her. She saw the dense foliage nearby and hid amongst it.

Faith appeared from out of the blue, "Well done, Alice."

"Where did you come from?" Alice asked.

"Nevermind that, let's go. Your test is about to begin."

Faith snapped her fingers and they were in some castle.

"Where are we?"

"We're in a random castle. Now, your job is to retrieve the crown from the tower."

"That's all?"

"Don't get cocky, kid. This castle holds some nasty traps. You better be careful."

"Sure," she said, then went off to find the crown.

"This place ain't too scary," she thought to herself. Suddenly she heard a noise coming from up ahead. She went to investigate it and found something horrid, a crature that looked like it had been stitched together. It had a man's head, a monkey's body and a tiger's hands. She tried to move away from it without getting noticed. She ran for her life.

"What was that?" she asked herself.

She almost wanted to quit because of that horrifying experience, but she was so determined to become a Hunter that she continued on her Hunt. She continued walking until she reached three hallways. She continued walking down the center path.

*CLICK*

She triggered a trap. The floor under her began to crack. She ran as fast as she could until she reached the end of the hall. She looked through the window and realized that she was already at the tower.

"All that's left now is to get that crown."

She climbed some stairs, suddenly *CLICK* another trap. This time it was an iron ball coming up from the top of the staircase. She was quick to jump out the window. She rabbed the edge and then started her way back up. She reached a wooden door with the words "CONGRATULATIONS" carved onto it. She opened it and saw something that horrified her so much that her legs gave out. A person in a black hood was torturing a man. He whipped him with a cattail(a whip with sharp spikes at the tip), stabbed his chest with a a rusty dagger, punched and kicked him. She thought to herself "Oh crap, I'm next!". She began cry hysterically. The figure heard her and started coming her way. The figure grabbed her sleeve and started slapping her. 

She felt hopeless. The man grabbed a dagger from his pocket. He was about to stab her when she grabbed his and and started fighting for her life. THe man let go of her. She grabbed the dagger that she stole form the armory and started stabbing the man. The blood of the person flooded the floor. "I killed a person," She thought to herself.

"Good job, Alice. You killed the man who was guarding the crown. Now pick it up and pass the test."

"I KILLED A MAN!!" she shouted. She fell on her knees and cried hysterically.

"There, there Alice. That's part of being a Hunter. Now stand up and take the crown, you deserve it after all you've been through."

"Well, okay."

Present day....

"WOW!! You actually killed a person?" Damon asked.

"Yeah, it felt horrible."

"Well, lets get the hell out of this cave befor it collapses."

"Sure."

They got out of the cave and headed into town. They got into a restaurant and started eating. A man in a dark hood entered the restaurant. He glared at everyone until he got to a seat near Damon and Alice. He started staring at them.

"Who is that guy?" Alice whispered to Damon.

"I don't know but we better get out of here, he's giving me the creeps."

As they were standing up, the folllowed them with his eyes. As they got out, the man stood up and started following them.

They started running. The man followed them. They turned into a dark alley and hid behind some crates. As the man approached the wall, they jumped out and grabbed him. They were shocked when they unhooded his cloak.

"MANUS!!!"
