Roselyn POV

I walk into James's room the wake him up. He has posters everywhere in his room. Pictures of him and His friends.

"James get up," I say shaking him.

"Rose what's the matter?" He says slapping my hands away.

"Nothing I just want to get started. I made a list of the things we say we're gonna to do on the weekends, but you they're to boring to actually do on a weekend," I say walking over to the curtains and opening them. "Then you say well do them during the week, which of course we never do so I think we should get them all out of the way today," I say going on a ranted. "And to make it interesting we should come up with a reward system. So once we're done with everything on the list," I say grabbing him some clothes for the day, "we could go out and eat,"

He picks up his clock and looks at it. He turns it around at me.

"It's 6:00,"

"I know," I say putting his clothes on his bed.

"On Saturday morning,"

"That's right,"

"It's 6:00 on Saturday morning!"

"Do you want to wear boots on sneakers?"

"I want to wear pajamas,"

"Up please!" I say sitting on the bed.

"Rose, it is Saturday the day of rest,"

"Sunday's the day of rest actually,"

"No Saturday is the day of pre-rest," he says trying to convince me.

I grab his blankets and pull them off.

"Oh jeez!" He yells at me.

"Up please," I say walking to the door, " I'll see you downstairs,"

James POV (finally)

I walk downstairs and turn to go to the kitchen. I stop and turn back and face the living room. I notice that everything there is rearranged. I go back towards the kitchen.

"Did you rearrange the firnature ?" I asked her.

"Yes," I say as I see mom and dad walk in.

"So was there any reason you suddenly felt the need to move around large pieces of furniture?"

"I was up. it was there?" She said. Sitting at the table. She had a notepad and a quill.

"Ok,"

"Are you ready to go?" She asked.

"Yeah, I am,"

"just one quick second?" Mom said. "Um why don't you put the quill down?"

"Im just finishing the list," she said still writing.

"As much as I love you lists, let's just fish this particular one in a little while ok?" Mom said sitting next to Roselyn.

"Okay,"

"Rose I'm concerned about you. I wish you would talk to me,"

"I don't want to deal with it right now. I can't deal with it right now," she said in a quieter voice.

"Fair enough, but listen I've had my heart broken before. It's really hard. It's hard for everyone, so can I give you a little advice?" Mom asked.

"Okay," Rose said so quiet that you could barely hear her.

"I think what you really need to do today is wallow."Mom said.

"Wallow?"

"Get back in your pajamas, go to bed, eat nothing but gallons ice cream and pizza, don't take a shower or shave your legs or put on any kind of makeup at all. Just sit in the dark and read a really sad book and have a good long cry. And just wallow. You need to wallow," mom says trying to convince her.

"No," Roselyn says.

"Rose, your first love is intense, and your first breakup even more intense. Shoving it away and ignoring it while you make lists, it's not gonna help,"

"I don't want to wallow,"

"Try it for one day," mom says.

"No," Rose says shaking her head, "I don't want to be that type of girl who crys of boys,"

"What kinda girl, honey?" Dad asked.

"The kind of girl who falls apart because she doesn't have a boyfriend,"

"That description hardly describes you," dad says.

"It will if I wallow," she said, "so I used to have a boyfriend and now I don't," she said getting up. "That just the way it is. Sitting in the dark, eating junk food, and not shaving my legs isn't gonna Change that, is it?"

"No," mom says.

"Okay, so I don't even want to go there. I have school and what I'm gonna do after school to think about,"

"That's 2 years away," I said.

"But now is the time to be preparing for it. I mean, it's hard to get a good job, and I don't even know why I even spent my time thinking about anything else,"

"Because you have a pulse and a heart beat," I said.

"I'm 16, I have the rest of my life to have a boyfriend. I should be keeping my eye on the prize right now,"

"I admire your attitude," dad says.

"Thank you. Now I have to go out today to pick some books up and stuff. I think I will meet Marlene down there. I'll be back in a couple of hours," and then she just walked out of the house.

"So I got up for nothing,"

"So did I son, so did I," dad said to me.
