The madman's past

3rd Person POV – a week after the duel

After a stressful day at school, during which his brother and Raynare were absent – dragon's problems, he said – Gabriele Hyoudou can be seen sitting on an armchair drinking some tea, and he was smiling softly.

Why, you ask? Because of the slip of paper he found when he entered the room.

Hyoudou-kun,

We had a problem with a stray devil in the area, so we'll be away for the majority of the afternoon. As a sign of thanks for your help, I prepared you a little refreshment with the tea you love so much!

"Delicious, my fair lady. Delicious."

After eating, the young man looked at the raining sky and shivered. Then, he looked at the chimney and lighted it – after grabbing a book from the shelf with the title 'The myth of Ragnarok' he sat back down and started reading it.

Not long after he was asleep, comforted by the sound of rain and the fizzling of the chimney. However, no dreams were awaiting the Ripper...just nightmares.

Timeskip

"Akeno-senpai."

"Yes, Koneko-chan?"

"Rias-buchou is a little distracted since the duel. I'm worried."

"I shouldn't tell you that, but Buchou received word from Sona-kaichou that two exorcists arrived in town, and-"

"I understand, Akeno-senpai. Do you think Gabriele-senpai will help us again?"

"Ara, first name basis? Does he know?"

"N-no..." The usually stoic nekomata loses control, and her ears poke out.

"You shouldn't wait, or else I'll take him-"

"Senpai!"

"Fufu-, he's certainly a fascinating man." The teasing look on the fallen's face morphs into one of rememberance.

"NO, DON'T GO!"

A scream erupts, and Akeno and Koneko rush into the clubroom. What they see is the holder of Jack the Ripper, flailing his arms while sleeping on the armchair at times shouting and at times muttering.

"Gabriele-senpai."

"Hyoudou-kun!"

"Wait, senpai. He's sleeping."

"No...Via...Irina, why? I-I...I thought we would be together! I-I loved you! You promised me!"

"Senpai..."Koneko sobs.

Akeno gives a sad smile and grabs a chair from the desk, gently moving the teen's upper body in a lying position, his head on her lap and his legs still on the armchair.

"Relax, Gabriele-kun. Me and Koneko-chan are here for you. Always and forever, even if you don't know it yet."She starts stroking his hair, while the nekomata climbs on his lap and sits there, ears still out in the open.

"We will help you get rid of your demons, senpai. We owe you."

Meanwhile – Hyoudou Residence – Issei POV

Ugh...dragon heat cycle is a bitch!

Now at least you have a girl for this situation...before you had to fake sickness and lock yourself in your room.
