"And where do you think you're going." it wasn't actually a question, more like he knew where she was going but he wanted her to answer him. Luz had mentally sighed, not wanting to make a conversation with her dad with nothing to add, nothing more.

Hesitating, he didn't like that she didn't say a word. "So you're still keeping up this 'mute' act?" he asked her, only if she could punch him in the face and told him to shut up but no she could not. "Look at me." ordering her did not made her flinch, nor was she even listening.
Then,

Luz had felt something thrown at her back. Specifically, spine.
Not only did it made her move a bit forward, it was something thin but wet and warm. She had to change her sweater later as she knew it was his food on his plate.

Finally turning, just not facing and ignoring her father the whole time. It was kinda easy to ignore him now, though he did not stopped yelling and throwing a fit on his only daughter.
Once she was in her room, she locked her door and changed her sweater.

Only to realise she was sweating under her shirt so now she took her shirt off too after her sweater, throwing it at the basket next to the door.
The screaming stopped soon after she changed, although she didn't want to go downstairs and get something thrown at her again so she opened her window and throwing her bag first then jumped out, landing first on her feet before rolling.

The young girl grabbed her bag after dusting herself from the dirt before departing her home to the sidewalk.

Being tired and in a bad mood Luz took the path to the park Instead of the way to school.

Walking down the sidewalk she stuffed her hands into her jean's pockets. She kicked a rock down the concrete angrily, she wanted to stand up for herself but he was three times her size.

He would kill her if she even tried to hit him back. Though to her, death sounded blissfull.

A swing set sat beside a children's playground, Luz sat on the swing opening her bag she took out a pack of cigarettes.

Taking one out she lights it taking a death breath of the grey smoke. It helped her nerves for a bit but her anxiety always spiked after an hour or so.

Four hours later Luz had went through 1 1/2 packs and 4 books. Nothing new for her honestly, skipping classes when she was able too. She kept her grades at a B average, by cheating usually.

It's not like she wasn't smart, she is very smart but has no motivation to even try anymore. She gave up sophomor year, now being a senior.

Taking out a bottle of whiskey from her bag she laughs at herself. She felt pathetic, smoking and drinking at a part was so cliche to her.

Taking a swig of it she wiped the corner of her mouth. Looking up from the bottle she noticed two people walking towards hers.

Fuck my life she groaned seeing who it was.
