"Erm... hey sis," I said awkwardly, still stuffed into a closet.
Ari's nostrils flared. I wouldn't blame her though. If a girl's hiding in your boyfriends' house, you begin to suspect.
"Her?!"
"Ari, let me explain. She was-"
"She was just what!" Ari interrupted. "A study buddy? One night stand? Something on the side?"
She then muttered curses in Spanish. I had no idea she even knew the language. Dad taught us what mom told him, but his accent was awful. Plus, Ari would rather watch Hannah Montana and Kim Possible than learn greetings, let alone swearing.
"Please listen, nothing was happening," Liam said reaching to hold her hand, but she quickly jerked away from him.
"Don't touch me!" She wiped away the tears running down her face and rushed out.
A moment of silence and awkwardness passed. I slowly got out of the closet.
"I'm very sorry about what happened."
Liam didn't even want to look me in the eye. He must have been crying. "Just go," he croaked.
As I got out of Liam's house, I saw Ari crying in a corner on the phone, probably talking to he rest of her clique. I might regret walking towards her and comforting her, but she was my sister, whether she cares to acknowledge it or not.
"Hey," I said, rubbing her shoulder. "Nothing happened, I promise."
She pushed her dirty blonde hair out of her face. "So you're saying that you guys didn't kiss?"
The party. I can't lie to her. Not now. But, I have three more years of her and I'm not exactly sure if I want to bec-
Ari's eyes widened. "You're hesitating!" She yelled, cutting my thoughts short.
"Yes."
She gasped. "But it wasn't today, it was at the party."
Ari started to get in her care and drive away. "But he thought I was you, I swear!"
She turned the keys in the ignition. Before she began to drive off, she said two words to me.
"Fuck off."
The Next Day
Ari
I really did not want to wake up today. II informed Bev and Chloe who informed the whole school (Those who mattered) about Liam and my sister. Me, along with the rest of the A-List unfriended him on Facebook, unfollowed him on Instagram, and some of the wannabes sent Liam hate mail.
I got out of the house pretty quick so I had to avoid my sister. I left Bev and Chloe to do what they felt like doing to her. Honestly, she is dead to me.
As I walked through the halls of the school, everyone was looking at me and whispering. The wannabe clique even sent me a fruit basket in my locker.
"Hey Ari, are you okay?" Gwen, the leader of the wannabes asked as I opened my locker.
"Yeah, I'm fine," ignoring the fact that she knows my locker combo.
"Really? 'Cause you look like you haven't showered." Then she looked at me closer. "Did you even apply make-up this morning?"
"Who cares anymore." I groaned.
"Guys don't care about make-up and curly hair or think about love. All they think about is whether they're 'getting any' tonight."
Gwen seemed a little confused about my sudden behavior. "Um, okay. Just don't become one of those people that listen to Nirvana, wear non-prescription glasses, and pretend to not have a care in the world. I really care for you," she said rubbing my shoulder.
Yeah right. All she cared about was my clique burning to the ground so she could be number one. Even with her stupid rumors, or spreading hate about me on social media, I still came out on top. Not that it really mattered anyway.
Savi
"Is it true that you slept with Liam?"
"Skank. How could you do that to your own sister?"
"That's her. She's the one that slept with her sisters' boyfriend. So cool!"
"Hey when you're done with Liam, can I get a taste?"
I winced a little at that last comment.
"Uh, can you go? I'm trying to finish my sandwich," Sam said shooing the crowd of gossipers and hormonal teenage boys.
But as soon as our table, mostly know as Social Siberia was cleared, five more people came to sit down. I groaned. It was the Wannabes. Their leader Gwen had it out for Ari since middle school, now she had a group of Bev and Chloe's to try and dethrone my sister.
"Wannabes, three o'clock," I said warning Sam.
"What are you talking about? It's one-thirty," Sam said, her mouth stuffed with food.
"Hello Savannah. Samantha."
Sam fake smiled at her. Either that or she was trying to gulp down her chunk of lettuce.
"Are you going to shame me for being a slut too?"
She giggled with that high pitched laugh of hers. "No, silly." Then her voice turned serious. "I'm hear to bargain with you."
I snorted. I know that must have irked her, considering her twitch. "What do you want Gwen?"
"What do you say if I wanted to make your sisters' life hell?" She said with a devilish grin.
"I would say no," I replied. "Do you honestly think I'm going to join your clique to ruin my sister? You clearly don't know me well enough."
"You're sisters' talking bad about you. If I were you, I'd return the favor."
"What are you talking about?"
Then a girl in Gwen's group showed me an Instagram shot. It was posted almost twelve hours ago. It was a photo of Miley twerking on Robin Thicke at the VMA's. Except my face was plastered on top of Miley's face. It was captioned But he gotta get rid of these hoes for me.
It was a lyric from one of those raps that sound the same. Gwen and her clique were slowly waiting my answer. So was Sam. She vigorously nodded her head.
"I'm in."
