Savi
It's currently lunch and although it's the first day of school, the cliques have already been formed and I've been where I've always been. Social Exile. Sam and I are the only members but it took us a long time to get our clique approved. Ari,Bev, and Chloe(The A.B.C's) are in the middle of the cafeteria. The Wannabe Pops are not far behind to the left and north of the Cheerleaders. To the right are the soon to be Jocks, south of the Hipsters who claim they don't like to label themselves, diagonal to the Nerds who are across from the Goths and Basket Cases. The rest are the Einsteins, Mathletes, the Jane Goodall's, Nuns(They "claim" to never lose their virginity), Skate Club, the D.I.Y's (They make EVERYTHING they wear), Glee Club (They only talk about the show), the Vera Wang followers, the Techies and the Journalism Dorks.
I met Sam at our table who seems to be chewing her gum all the time. "What are you chewing this time?" I wonder.
"It's a concoction I like to call Sour Patch Gum." she replied, popping a bubble.
I glance at Ari's table like I always do. She's flirting. Like she always does. Her ideal male must always play a sport, and has to be less attractive than her. Today is not the case, and that's coming from me. She seems to have everything she wants now. A life where I'm not in her shadow. Believe it or not, before 6th grade, I was the mean cliche popular bitch who always made fun of her little sister for being a dumb Puerto Rican. She caught my stare, smirked and loudly said "I'm not your mirror. You can stop staring now!" And she laughed, along with Bev and Chloe which echoed around the cafeteria.
I quickly buried my head in my phone, pretending to read a text. "How embarrassing" I muttered. Great, my first day and everyone thinks I'm a freak. Usually, this happens in the second week.
Ari
What a freak! It's like she's obsessed with me or something.
"Ahem. So where were we?," I teased while touching his thigh. "You're trying out for the football team? What position?"
He seemed a little nervous. Perfect.
"Um...ugh...linebacker."He answered. "My dad was linebacker so I guess I should live on tradition." He quietly chuckled.
I'm guessing he's not a virgin. He seems Christian with his wide brown eyes and positive attitude. But then again, my hand is still on his thigh and he doesn't seem like he wants it to come off.
"What are you doing after school?"
"I'm gonna go over the drills and-"
"And after that?"
He knew what was coming next. "Hanging out with you" he said showing his crooked smile.
The closest thing to a genuine smile came from my face. ''Great. My people will text your people. Girls!" I motioned to Bev and Chloe who gave him my number, address and Instagram, then quickly followed me to class.
"You know you don't know my name, right?" the boy asked.
I stopped. I did. Liam Court. Shoe-in for linebacker. Incredibly hot. But I like to let my victims know everything I know by the third day.
''You don't know mine either.'' I smirked. "I guess we'll find all that out when we're in my room." I flirted.
