*(Y/n)'s POV*
"You know me?" Valerie asked.
"How do you know her?" Danny asked and then we heard the sound of an alarm beeping in the living room. Danny's parents rushed back from the kitchen to look around, frantically. They saw his dad's head as a form of a statue on the desk near the family photos and the eyes were blinking red. Mr. Fenton popped the top of the head open and pressed the button. The wall above it flipped around and showed a Ghost Zone Radar.
Ghosts were nearing the entrance of the portal. "Galloping goblets..." Mr. Fenton cursed. "It's the ecto-exodus alarm!"
"The ecto-whaty-what?" Danny, Sam, and I hurried over to ask out of curiosity.
"The ecto-exodus alarm!" Mrs. Fenton repeated. "The alarm that only goes off if we're about to face a massive ghost invasion."
"Stall them!" Danny whispered to us as he turned to run into the kitchen to go ghost.
Mr. Fenton started going downstairs to the lab where Danny was going, until Sam purposely puts her foot out and he trips onto the floor. "Uh...whoops!" She said.
"Whoops!" I said, dropping a textbook that I grabbed from my backpack. Mrs. Fenton stepped on the book and slid into the closet.

*Danny's POV*
I ran downstairs to see the alarms going off and red lights flashing in the lab. "Okay, here we go..." I said, as I transformed into Danny Phantom.
A head popped out of the ghost portal and the first ghost I saw was, "BEWARE!" The Box Ghost. He lifted his hands up in the air to make a spooky effect and I laughed.
"Oh man." I said, facepalming. "Only you?" The box ghost just stared at me blankly, and then a single line of a ghost ray shot out from the ghost portal at me. I fell backwards in surprise. I felt a boot on my chest and I looked up to see Skulker back in his ecto-skeleton suit. "Skulker?"
"I told you it was a way out through here." Skulker said, and beckoned forth with a hand gesture. I tried to sit upright to see who he was talking to and saw Ember, Walker, Johnny 13's shadow and the first ghosts I've ever fought pop out. "Now go, go, go!" A whole bunch of ghosts started flying out of the ghost zone all at once. My jaw dropped as I watched them all disappear through the ceiling. They were all scared. While Skulker was distracted, I grabbed his foot and drag him through the ceiling as well, turning the both of us invisible.
Once we were out of the building, I tossed him away. I started to swing a punch at Skulker, until the hand of the dragon ghost, Aragon grabbed at it. Aragon roared at me, and I looked to see Pointdexter on the back of the dragon. "I know this might sound a little fishy, but Skulker isn't the bully here." Pointdexter said to me.
"Bully?" I asked as Aragon's hand let me go. "What are you all running from?" I faced everyone else that was floating behind Skulker.
"His name is Pariah Dark." Ember explained to me, holding up her guitar. "The King of all ghosts."
"And while we may be in a hurry," Skulker said, cracking his knuckles. "We'll always have time for this!" He swung at me, in an uppercut and I grunted in pain. Desiree punched me right in the stomach. Ember struck a chord at me and I was getting beaten up by everyone else as they swarmed me as a whole. Just like high school, huh?
Finally, I fell out of the fray, and onto the pavement by my house. My face had several bruises and I landed on my back, changing back to normal. "Oh no," (Y/n) said at the steps of my porch. "Danny!"
Her and Sam ran up to aid me. "You okay?" Sam asked and I glared at her in response. "Sorry...Standard question."
(Y/n) looked at me worried, and she helped me stand on my feet. She wrapped my arm around her shoulder for support and I just was miserable. "What was that about?" She asked.
"I don't know..." I said. "But I think Vlad Plasmius just became the least of my worries."

*Vlad's POV*
"So, the equipment is to your liking?" I asked, sitting at the edge of Valerie's V-shaped hoverboard. I led Valerie out of the Fenton's home and wanted to have a little conversation with her. The best way to see through my own eyes was on a hover board. "It-it functions properly, does it?"
"Heck yeah!" she exclaimed and lowered us to the nearest roof. I watched her in her red jumpsuit, and I grinned in the back with my hair flowing in the wind. "It's like you designed it just for me!" I hopped off the board and it disappears back into her shoes. She removed her mask. "Why would you do that? I'm like...fourteen."
"You're also the most capable ghost hunter I've ever seen aside from the parents I've hired in the past several months! They came to me struggling, and I aided them. They didn't know what else to do other than to protect their daughter." I explained to her. "You're smart, you're fast, you're strong, and most of all...you're motivated."
"Really?"
"Of course, you're much more motivated than them. Why else would I say such a thing? I would have to be some sort of...oh, diabolical villain to manipulate you and those parents like that." I felt like I have spoken a little too much to this young girl. She stared at me, with those green hunter eyes and a few seconds later, we laughed it off, but it wasn't really that funny to me. "Oh, I'd kill me. Or Jack." She stopped laughing and stared at me odd. "And my dear, it's the reason I trust you with this." I held out King Pariah's ring to her.
"A ring?" Valerie asked.
"Not just any ring." I said. "It's been passed down from ghost hunter to ghost hunter for generations..."
I gave her the ring and she put it on. "I don't know what to say." She didn't notice a surge of power within her and I grabbed her hand.
"Don't say anything, dear, but please, let's keep it our little secret. Hm?" Valerie turned around when she heard a ghost wailing sound.
"What was that?"
"Probably Jack goofing up again." I said, with a smug look on my face. "I believe you have a job to do."
The v-shaped hoverboard appeared from under her feet again and she started to lift off the ground. "I won't let you down, Mr. Masters."
Once she left, I transformed into my alter-ego Vlad Plasmius. "OH, well that, you can be sure, and young Daniel will be so busy protecting (Y/n)...Stealing that battle suit will be a snap."

*(Y/n)'s POV*
The following morning at school, we sat at the lunch table together. "Dude, you okay?" Tucker asked as we looked at Danny who had bags underneath his eyes. He looked at Tucker tiredly. "Sorry...standard question. Late night?"
"Of course it was a late night." Danny said in annoyance. "Every ghost I know and about a million I don't...are LOOSE." One of the original ghosts came up beside me and my eyes widened when they stole Danny's lunch from him. "Not to mention, I couldn't sleep because I had my arch-enemy in the guest room next to me."
"My parents sleep in the bedroom next to me..." Sam said to make him feel better. "It's not the same, but I still couldn't sleep either."
"Hey (Y/n), hey Danny!" Valerie said, walking up beside us.
"Hey Val!" we said.
"Hey Val?" Tucker repeated. He sounded ticked off. "Isn't that the same Val that's on a jet-sled trying to pace Danny?"
"Yep," I said, sarcastically speaking. I was trying to humor Tucker and everyone else. "And apparently next week, we're having cookies with Skulker! Is there anything else you wanna say?"
Valerie came up to us and said, "You two might wanna bag lunch it up outside. This isn't exactly the safest place for you right now? And Danny? I think you might want to protect her while you're at it, too."
"Huh?" I asked.
"What makes you say that?" Danny asked, and Dash took my lunch from me. He set it down, only to pick me up by my arms with Kwan.
"Hey, let me go!" I said, trying to squirm from them both. "Danny!"
