"Hey, Fenturd." Dash said, with his arms crossed. "No teachers around to protect you, and (Y/n) can't hide you with the nerds."
"Hey, I resent that!" Tucker said, walking over. "I'm plenty nerd." Dash lifted his tray up and smashed it against Tucker's face, shoving him away from us. He tightened his hand around my arm.
"Dash, take a hike, will you?" Danny asked. "Let her go, and I'm too tired to put up with you. Besides, shouldn't you be failing a test, kicking a puppy, or beating up somebody weaker than you now?"
"Come to think of it, yeah!" Dash said. He let me go, but Kwan kept his arm around my neck to put me in a chokehold. I watched as Dash swung his fist at Danny's chin and missed when he turned part of it invisible. Everyone around us were surprised.
I exchanged a look with Danny who covered his chin, and smiled at me, mischievously. He pointed his finger at the ground to release a ghost ray at Dash's feet. The bottom part of Dash's shoes melted and he tried to swing some more at him. I reached for my lunch tray off to the side while Kwan still held me, and I managed to drop it. I kicked it around to Dash and he fell face first into it.
Kwan finally let me go as everyone was cheering around us. "Sweet." I said, as I walked over to Danny and my friends.
"Is it?" Sam asked. "I know Dash is a jerk, but what if he saw something?"
"He's not going to see something." Danny reassured, and then turned to me. "Are you okay?"
"Mhm." I nodded with a smile. "I'm okay now. Besides, I'm tired of seeing you get kicked around all the time."
"Yeah, and maybe it's time I do a little kicking back."

*Vlad's POV*
"Any idea when this suit might be finished?" I asked, trying to not break my patience around here. I placed my hand on the suit, and saw Jack wheeling out from underneath.
"You're pushing me, V-man." Jack said. "I'm working on it as fast as I can."
He went back to working underneath it and that's when I heard the Fright Knight's horse neighing. My jaw dropped and I looked at the Ghost Portal. "Can we pick it up a little bit?" I panicked.
"What was that?" Maddie asked, hurrying downstairs with (Y/n)'s parents.
"I made churros for breakfast!" Jack exclaimed, standing up. The Fright Knight's trusty stead kicked the doors opened and I stepped aside. I smiled to myself as he got pushed back by one of the broken doors.
"Jack, look out." I said, sarcastically, but with satisfaction. "The door!"
"Go, and find the King's ring!" Fright Knight ordered, his sword thrusting forward. The army of skeletons came running out of the Ghost Portal and they turned invisible, running away.
"Jack, we have to shut the portal." Maddie said, trying to help him up.
"Yeah, I'll get right on that." He said.
"Don't worry." (Y/n)'s mom said. "You help him up, I got the-" Her hand reached for the lever that closes the portal, but the Fright Knight grabbed her hand. He tossed her away.
"(M/n)!" (D/n) said, running over to her.
The Fright Knight saw Maddie run to the lever again, and he held her up by the arm. "Hey, let go of the woman I love!" Jack and I said at the same time.
Jack looked at me odd and I managed to add, "Like a dear friend." I pointed to the top half of the suit. "Is any part of that suit operational!?"
"Well, the pants part." Jack said. "But it's not calibrated yet. Using the suit could kill you."
"Well, then, maybe you should try it first." I suggested. "It is your battle suit!"
The Fright Knight swung his sword and fire shot out from it. Jack shoved me aside from harms way. "That it is, V-man." Jack said. "It's time to kick a little butt." He hurried off and jumped into the bottom part of the ecto-skeleton suit. "And these are just the pants to kick it in! Neuro-receptors engage." He pressed the button on the suit, and a mechanical spine latched onto his back, extending out to his arms so the suit recognizes its user. Jack leaped over to the Fright Knight who still held Maddie.
Jack ran around the Fright Knight at incredible speed and I stared incredulously. Then, he jumped at him and used that speed to kick at the Fright Knight who managed to let her go.
"The kick is up-!" Jack said, and the Fright Knight disappeared. He sent him flying out of here. "And it's good!" Jack laughed in victory as Maddie and (Y/n)'s parents hurried over. "No one can touch me while I'm wearing the Fenton..." An alarm started going off and Jack faltered. "The ecto-skeleton...weakening." We saw the dial on the front that showed the energy draining from him.
"The suit's draining you like a battery, Jack!" (D/n) said as they supported him.
"Vlad, help us get these pants off Jack." Maddie said.
"Nope, sorry. It seems like you have all the help you need!" I said, walking away.

*(Y/n)'s POV*
"(Y/n), please tell Tucker he's nuts." Danny said to me as we stood by the lockers.
"I don't feel like I'm nuts." Tucker said.
"And I don't think he is, either." Sam said, crossing her arms.
"I hate to say it, Danny, but I agree with these two. Valerie is one of your enemies." I explained. "You think it's smart to be letting her in this close to us?"
"I can handle it." Danny said. "Besides, she's not so bad once you get to know her. Plus, I thought you started to like her, too, (Y/n)."
I frowned at him. There was probably a point in time where he got to know Valerie herself. It was when we had a school assignment to be partnered up with someone to take care of a sack of flour as our own child. Danny was paired up with Valerie, and I would've been paired up with him if I didn't come to class a little late that day. I remembered that the teacher allowed me to partner up with Sam and Tucker since everyone else was partnered already.
"Thanks, you're not so bad yourself, Fenton." Valerie said as she walked up to him. Sam and Tucker turned around with their arms crossed. "What's up with them, (Y/n)?"
I shrugged. "They're really good friends." I said, humoring her. "We're also just being really over-protective."
"Of what?" Valerie asked. "It's not like me and Danny have anything to hide."
Danny looked at me to smile and I glared at him. Then, I heard him gasp. "Whoa, I gotta jet." Danny said and we watched him leave.
"Can I talk to you for a second?" Valerie asked me. I looked at Sam and Tucker who weren't too happy, but they walked away to give us some space. "What's been going on with you two recently? You and Danny seem to be on and off."
"Well, Val, it's...complicated." I said, truthfully. Then we gasped and turned around to hear Dash screaming in surprise. He rammed himself into a few lockers, and smashed himself into one again, but with his head this time. He fell over unconsciously, and suddenly, Danny walked down the stairs. He looked at us and we just stared back blankly.
"And...there's more where that came from, Baxter!" Danny pretended to yell. "So watch it!"
He ran off and Valerie just looked even more confused. "Not only are you two unsure what you really want in this phase, but where the heck is he running to all the time?" she asked. "The only guys I see running like that have a job...Or a girlfriend. Which you aren't one, apparently."
"I'm not his girlfriend, Valerie." I said, bitterly. "Why do you care anyway?"
"Mhm, right." She said.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"You like him." Valerie grinned at me.
"He's my best friend." I pointed out. "Same with Sam a-and Tucker. We just get along really well because of our parents." Technically, that's not a total lie.
"I'm sure he is." Valerie said. "But if you like him. I mean, like him...like him. Make a move, (Y/n), because if you don't...somebody will."
