"I don't think... I don't think I can do this..." Zee whispered unhappily.
"Do what?" Joss questioned him.
"I don't think I can be CEO of Arthes Technology." Zee told him.Joss studied his best friend while sipping his coffee. He put the mug down and slowly nodded his head.
"May I know why?"
"I know the company is mine... But I don't think I make the best CEO... Or I even want to..." Zee trailed.
"Have you told this to Saint? Or to Brandon?"
"Sort of..." Zee murmured.
"Sort of?" Joss asked him.
"I told Saint about I am not ready... Sort of... That being CEO is not what I really want... Sort of... I just don't feel that I am the best candidate for it." Zee smiled at his friend.
"You're extremely smart... You can learn really fast... You pick up stuff... Everything like a sponge." Joss told him.
"Does that make me the best CEO?" Zee questioned Joss.
"Mmmm... Not necessarily." Joss answered.
"My thoughts exactly." Zee said.
"The other day... I wanted to fund this small company from Trang... Hamilton and Sons... I thought that it would help the company and the community because it is a community based company... By assisting them, Arthes would help them grow bigger and the community. I love the idea." He explained.
"But..." Joss asked.
"Saint didn't like the idea... Small company thus.... Small profit..." Zee murmured.
"You are the owner... Just do what you think is the best Zee."
"I'm the owner but I have to convince the board of directors as well... Arthes is a money making machine... And Saint is making it a more efficient money making company." Zee shared.
"You sound unhappy that the company you own makes money?" Joss teased him.
"Yes... Mmmm... No.... I make a horrible CEO..." Zee groaned.
"I don't really want to be CEO..." He whispered and smiled sadly at Joss.
"Zee... I can't make decisions for you... I know how super smart you are... You can excel in any fields you choose to be in... But I can see how unhappy you are these few months... Now I know why." Joss asserted.
"What should I do?"
"Do what you want Zee... Do what makes you happy and Angel happy..." Joss pointed.
"What about Saint?" Zee asked his friend..
"What about Saint?" Joss threw the question back at Zee.
"He really wants me to be... CEO."
"Hence making him insensitive and oblivious to what you want and need." Joss pointed.
"He's NOT like that."
"Really? Even I know you're unhappy with something... But your boyfriend doesn't?"
"He's super busy!"
"You're making excuses for the man Zee..."
"He has done so much for me and Angel..." Zee argued.
"I am not saying he hasn't but... There's more to a relationship than living in a big house... Making sure that you and Angel want for nothing... He hasn't changed if he still bulldozes his ways you know..." Joss reasoned.
"He loves me..."
"I know he does... But Zee... Come on... He doesn't listen to what you really need." Joss explained.
"Tell me Zee... What do you REALLY want huh?"
"I want to be happy with Angel and Saint."
"Are you happy?" Joss asked him.
"I... Mmmm... I am..."
"Don't lie Buddy... You suck at it!" Joss smiled at his friend.
"I am grateful with what I have." Zee answered.
"You're dodging my question." Joss grinned.
"How do you really feel Zee?"Zee sighed out loud and put his mug on the table.
"Drowning." Zee replied.
"I'm sorry to hear that Zee.."
"Talk to the man."
"I will..."
"Like TALK TALK Zee... This is your life... And Angel's."
"Where IS Angel by the way?" Joss looked around.
"She's at Saint's Parents."
"Oh really? They are okay with you and Saint being together I guess?"
"Yes... They are..." Zee nodded.
"That's great! Not many parents are open like that..." Joss smiled at Zee.
"I guess..." Zee asserted.
"They even accept your daughter... That's great Zee... I'm happy for you and Angel... And Saint."
"Thanks."
"What are you going to do with the CEO thing? Are you going to become the CEO or...?"
"It's my responsibility..." Zee replied.
"Yes and no... You don't have to be the CEO if you don't want to." Joss pointed.
"Brandon hasn't even gotten his degree... And I am not sure if he is interested..." Zee shared.
"You can hire people Zee... Like how they hired Saint... Life is short... To be stuck in a life that you don't like or love."
"Buddy... You looked happier with me and the crew when we were running the cafe! Working 2 jobs! Plus with those money lenders hounding your ass!" Joss pointed.
