Chapter 1

"Get it Sponge! Kill it! RIGHT NOW!" Spiker exclaimed, pointing to the monarch butterfly that flew in.

Sponge grabbed a kitchen knife from the drawer and started chasing the monarch butterfly. When Sponge tried to slash it, the butterfly flew to the opposite direction as quickly as it could. It flew right on the kitchen table and as soon as Sponge came near, it immediately flew away. It's sudden escape caused Sponge to stab the table.

The butterfly flew across Spiker, who frantically picked up her swatter and started waving it around quickly. It flew away from her as quickly as it could and ended up accidentally flying into Sponge's face. "SPIKER!"

"Hang on, Spongie!" Spiker exclaimed. She tried to aim the swatter at it.

Sponge trembled as she felt the butterfly quickly crawl up to her forehead. "Sp-sp-sp-Spiker! A little help here!"

Spiker was about to hit the butterfly, but her target immediately flew out of the way and the one who got hit instead was Sponge.

"HOW MANY TIMES ARE YOU GOING TO HIT ME IN THE FACE?!"

"Shut up and kill the insect!"

Sponge quickly grabbed another kitchen knife and went after the butterfly. It was so disoriented, it flew in multiple directions until it finally flew out of the kitchen window.

"And stay out, you disgusting insect!" Spiker yelled.

Sponge ran to the window and quickly closed it. She heaved a sigh of exhaustion. "We can't let these creatures enter our home."

"Even butterflies are a disgrace." Spiker said bitterly.

---

Butterfly felt extremely lightheaded as she kept twirling in the air. She kept going left, right, up, and down until she crashed into the giant peach and landed on the ground. She got up slowly, feeling sore from the fall.

"That was too close. I have never felt so dizzy in my life..," Butterfly said.

She looked back at Spiker and Sponge's home and her eyes flared. She knew she was only lucky that she was able to escape such a deadly situation. "Spiker and Sponge...,"

The young boy who lived with Spiker and Sponge kept coming in her mind. She remembered the day when she first spotted them. As she was flying around the hill, exploring the area, she spotted the giant peach growing. It was so bright and large, she couldn't help herself. As she got closer to observe it, she saw the young boy with Spiker and Sponge. Those aunts were mean, cruel and hideous, she thought. Why would a young boy live with them? Why would ANYBODY live with them? It made no sense.

Butterfly sighed. "I wish I knew more about him. I just don't get why he lives with those two...,"

She looked up at the giant peach, staring at it in awe. She had never seen a fruit as large as it. Back in Paris, she had seen many apples, oranges and even peaches but none were the size of this particular peach.

All of a sudden, she heard a squeaking sound from her left side. She turned her head and saw a glowing green thing hopping her way. "What is-"

Before she could finish her sentence, the green thing jumped into her mouth. She swallowed, unsure of what to say next. She then turned around, looking at Spiker and Sponge's home. "I gotta hide...,"

She turned back to the peach and her eyes widened right away. A tunnel-like hole appeared in it! It was large enough for her to fit in! She immediately crawled through it, moving slowly and carefully. It was too dark for her to see well, but she continued crawling through it anyway. As she got into the center of the peach, she felt strange, as if she had changed somehow but she couldn't put her finger on it. She stopped herself as she got the eerie feeling that she wasn't alone in the peach. She heard the sound of slithering, which made her heart beat faster. She stood up slowly and looked around the peach. It was pitch black. She took a few steps back until she tripped over something slimy and long. She gasped as she heard a nervous male voice scream. "Someone HELP ME!"

Butterfly stood up, backing away until she bumped into a tall creature.

"Hey! Watch it!" said a male voice, with some sort of heavy accent.

Butterfly jumped back immediately. "STAY AWAY FROM ME!"

"Anyone knows who she is?!" the male voice asked.

"I don't know. I don't recognize her voice." responded a male voice that sounded like an older gentleman.

"The poor dearie's startled." said a soft-spoken female voice. "Where did she come from?"

"I wonder who she is...," said another female voice. It had a French accent.

"Glowworm! Turn on your lights!" one of the male voices yelled out, clapping his hands.

"Glowworm?" Butterfly mused. "I'm not the only bug here?"

The lights came on right away. Butterfly looked up at the ceiling and saw that what turned on the lights was indeed a glowworm. She had white hair with black eyes and grey skin. She was wearing a brown dress, large red earrings, and she held opera glasses in her hand.

Butterfly looked around the room and it turned out the slimy creature she tripped over was an earthworm with black glasses, and a white collar that had a red bow tie on it.

The tall creature with the rough accent was a centipede with blue eyes, yellow-orange skin and many arms. He had a cigar in his mouth, which explained the smell of smoke. He wore a brown Gatsby hat, a white shirt, brown overalls and brown boots.

One of the female creatures was a ladybug with short black hair, black eyes and light blue skin. She wore a black top with white spots, a light blue skirt and black shoes with white socks. She also wore a red sunhat with a black band that had white spots and flowers on it, and she carried around a small red purse.

The other male creature was a tall, elderly grasshopper with green skin and a monocle over his right eye. He wore a black coat, light gray pants and white shoes.

There was also a giant female spider on her web. She was the creature with the French accent. She had short black hair, yellow-green eyes and a pale face. Her gloves and boots were black, her beret and bandana were teal and her abdomen had black and white stripes on it.

"You're all hiding from Spiker and Sponge too?" Butterfly asked.

The spider responded with a slight nod.

"Yes, dearie." the ladybug said calmly. "Those women are an absolute disgrace! It's important to stay as far away from them as possible, or else we'll get killed!"

"Wait a second... something doesn't seem right...," Butterfly said, pacing around quickly. "The peach seems somewhat smaller than it was when I first saw it... is it me or did we grow human-sized? Did we CHANGE?!"

"That is correct. Take a look," the ladybug took her mirror out of her purse and held it to Butterfly, and she gasped at her reflection. Her long blond hair wasn't dirty! Her black and purple striped dress wasn't torn, and her purple beret, scarf, gloves and high heeled boots looked clean. It's strange how nothing got dirty after that flight, Butterfly thought.

"What exactly happened to you, if you don't mind me asking?" the ladybug asked.

"I don't want to talk about it." Butterfly responded, crossing her arms. She glared at the other bugs coldly with her sapphire blue eyes. "I just want to hide from those hideous, disgusting women called Spiker and Sponge."

"And I just KNOW they will find us here!" the earthworm exclaimed. "They will kill us and use our bodies as-"

"Okay, I don't need thoughts like that right now!" Butterfly snapped at him. "You're annoying me."

"Hmmmm... maybe I can get us out of this mess..." the centipede pondered. "I can save the day!"

The centipede was about to make his way out of the peach, which caught the ladybug's attention right away. "Here now! Where do you think you're going, yank?"

"I'm goin' stir-crazy!" the centipede responded hastily. "I got to take a look around! Plan our escape from Spiker and Sponge!"

"Escape?! To WHERE?!" the earthworm asked frantically. "We'll all be squished, swatted, smooshed!"

"Hey, that's the spirit." Butterfly said sarcastically.

"No one's going to smoosh you, my dear boy. You're six feet long now." the grasshopper said, trying to calm the earthworm down.

"Bigger target," the earthworm responded, still worried.

"Let the biddies come! I'll take 'em both on!" the centipede said, snapping his claws. "I'm indefeatable! I'm indivisible! I'm-"

The centipede stopped himself due to the sound of ripping paper. He and the rest looked up, and saw a small figure falling right at them.
