Quick third-person POV
After only couple of months at Hogwarts and so much had happened. From trolls to disappearing unicorns, it was already almost the end of first year. But one more thing replayed its self in each of their heads that they could not ignore. The Philosopher's Stone.
Y/n POV
"Nicholas Flamel is the only known maker of the Philosopher's Stone," Hermione began.
For weeks the name Nicholas Flamel kept coming back to us as if it meant something. I then came up with the idea to search through some of Hermione books. Every night I'd steal some of her books to sneak downstairs and talk to Harry, but in some, the name kept repeating itself to me.
"The what?" We all said simultaneously.
"Honestly, don't you lot read." With that sentence, Harry turned his attention to me for a spilt two seconds before giving me a devilish smirk.
"Look it says here. 'The Philosopher's Stone is a legendary substance with astonishing powers. It'll transform any metal into pure gold and produces the Elixir of life which will make the drink immortal'."
"Immortal?" Ron repeated.
"It means you'll never die."
"I know what it means," Ron snapped.
"Well don't repeat it in a tone of stupidity, Ron."
Hermione and I glared at Ron before turning our attention back to the book.
"The only Stone currently in existence belongs to Mr. Nicholas Flamel, the noted alchemist who last year celebrated his 665th birthday."
"That's what Fluffy must be guarding, on the 3rd floor. That's what's under the trap door. The Philosopher's Stone."
"But we don't know for definite. What if it's just an old trap door, y/n. Then we've done all this for nothing."
"Well then, I know someone we could ask..."

"Y/n do you really think Hagrid will know?"
"Of course he will, he has something to do with it, surely. Anyways, Nicholas Flamel is probably a huge part of Hogwarts History if he's 665 years old."
We ran down in the freezing cold after curfew to ask Hagrid if he knew anything about what the Philosopher's Stone was. Well we already knew what it was...it's a stone, but he could give us some extra info we never had.
"Hagrid!" I beamed.
"Oh, hello, sorry, don't wish to be rude, but I'm in no fir state to entertain today."
He began to slowly shut the door in our faces.
"W-we know about the Philosopher's Stone," I blurted
"Oh." He fully widened the door so we could let ourselves in.
"We think Snape's trying to steal it."
"Snape? Blimey, you're not still on about him are yer."
"Hagrid, we know he's after the Stone, but we just don't know why."
"Snape is one of the teachers protecting the Stone. He's not 'bout to steal it."
"What?"
"You heard. Right. Come on now, I'm a bit preoccupied today."
"Wait a minute, 'one of the teachers'."
"Of course. There are other things defending the Stone, like spells and enchantments."
