I'm sorry in advance

Okay, I love Jack, but I told him that tonight I was spending it with my family.

I hadn't seen my sisters and parents in ages, and the least he could do was stop calling. I mean, we live together. It's not like I don't see him everyday.

And it's not that I don't want to see him, it's just that family is first. Secondly, I've missed mine.

Great, now he was leaving voicemails, ones that I'd have to listen to. Why doesn't he understand that I need some time to myself, and especially to my family?

And why was he so obsessed with calling me? He should be spending time with his own family. That's why we were back in Omaha anyways.

I'd reminded his mom to make him take his depression pills, so he should be fine. If he needs someone to be with him, he can talk to his family.

I'm not trying to be selfish, but hear me out. The last time I saw my family was at around New Years, and it's almost May.

I turned my phone off, but not before I took him off my VIP list. Now the dings would be silenced.

"Jack," someone said, tapping my shoulder, "it's your turn." I smiled at my sister, Molly, and then looked at the Jenga tower, pulling out my desired piece.

The evening was so nice and relaxing, and it was so great being home with my family and having a home cooked meal. Neither Jack nor I was very handy in the kitchen, so most nights ended up being takeout. I never thought I'd get tired of egg rolls.

And, as much as I hate to say it, it was nice being without Jack. He's my best friend, not to mention my boyfriend, but everyone needs their alone time. Tonight was my night.

"Hey, you okay?" Molly asked after I sighed frustratedly. "Something happen with you and Jack?"

"I'm fine, just annoyed. Jack has been calling me nonstop," I answered, running my hand through my hair as my dad knocked over the Jenga tower and the rest of the family yelled "Jenga!"

"Maybe you should answer him," she said, helping to rebuild the tower. We'd paused our game for dinner, but my parents love Jenga, so we played it after dinner too.

"He's got his family to help him out tonight. I want to spend this whole night with you guys. I see him everyday; he can hold off for twelve more hours." Molly didn't look satisfied, but left it alone.

Three hours later, after we'd played Uno and watched The Voice together, it dawned on me that I needed to get some sleep and adjust after the jet lag. My family understood, my parents deciding to get some shut eye as well while my sisters wanted to catch up on Pretty Little Liars.

I headed up to my old room, stepping over my suitcase and plugging in my phone as I got ready for bed. This was probably the best time to listen to Jack's messages and find out why'd he'd been calling, so I pressed play on the first one he sent me as I undid my pants. There were 16 missed calls and 9 messages, but I guess he figured it out on his own because the last one was from half an hour ago.

"Hi, Jack," he said, "hope you're having a good time. I was wondering if you'd maybe come over soon. I know that you wanted to spend a couple of days with your family but I just need you for a little. Thanks, call me back."

I went on to the next one, pulling on pajama pants.

"Hey, Jack," his voice said through the speaker, sounding a little shaky this time, "I know you're with your family right now because you won't answer my calls, but I need you right now, so please call me back. Thanks."
