I have been alone for the past three days.

No one has checked up on me, and frankly, I'm not surprised.

I've been pigging out, watching Breaking Bad again and eating those chocolate cupcakes made by Hostess. No showers or clothes changes, and I guess I'm pretty happy.

Jack has been away. He told me he was going home to Omaha just for the weekend, but when I called his dad up after he wouldn't answer, he said Jack wasn't even there.

And he's been so obsessed with his girlfriend, Madison, lately, so that's probably where he is. It's Valentine's Day weekend though, so I guess it makes sense. But he knows I don't have anyone to spend it with, plus I admitted to Jack how I feel about him. That led to him never being shirtless again.

As figured, the feelings were not requited. That was last month, and every waking moment since then has been alone, excuse the few songwriting and recording sessions.

But today Jack was supposed to be home, since we had to be at the studio by 3 for a songwriting session. It was now 1:50-ish, so he should either be in L.A. or arriving soon from wherever he'd been.

I decided I'd get there early and headed upstairs. I undressed and stepped into the shower, making sure I got every nook and cranny so I didn't seem so gross. After I washed up, I shaved off the scruff from my face and pulled on a clean, crisp dress shirt, dark pants, and some flowery Vans a fan left me on our doorstep.

Then I opened up the Uber app and ordered a taxi before I sat down on the curb outside our house to wait. A couple of people walked by and glanced at me hugging my knees, but I didn't let it bother me.

When the car pulled up, I got inside and shut the door behind me. The man, who told me his name was Andrew Li, talked to me politely on the way there. And though it was really just about where I was from and what I was doing in California and whatnot, it was incredibly pleasurable to actually speak with someone.

After I paid Mr. Li at the studio, I headed inside. Cassidy, the receptionist, let me know that our producers were in a meeting at the moment and would be done within the next ten minutes, so I sat down in one of the chairs by the door. Then I resumed playing the game Jack and I had created on my phone, sorting our faces into boxes.

"Hey, Jack," someone greeted, and I stood up to give them a handshake.

"Max, Savan, hey," I greeted, giving the two men a handshake.

"So, uh, where's Jack?" Max asked. They both looked at me expectantly.

"I wish I knew," I answered, my shoulders slumping slightly.

"Well, I'm going to run down to the Chick-fil-A to grab some food before we start. Either of you want anything?" Savan said, and I shook my head. Max said he'd come along. They left moments after, and I sat back down.

Twenty more minutes in silence, excuse the air conditioner humming.

"We got you a milkshake anyways, Skinny," Max joked, handing me a cup when they returned. I laughed lightly, but I felt gross after all the junk food I'd had during the weekend and truly hadn't wanted anything.

"Has Jack arrived yet?" Savan asked.

"No," I replied. "I don't actually know where he went this weekend. He said he was going to go home for a little, but I called his dad up and Jack wasn't in Omaha. He's probably with Madison."

"This isn't the first time..." I heard Savan mumble under his breath.

"Should we reschedule?" Max said, ignoring him.
