a/n

Please read the a/n at the end of the chapter! I want to address some things, but I don't want to write it all out before you actually get to read the chapter lol.

Also, my apologies in advance for any of the spelling errors that there might be throughout this chapter; it's kind of a lengthy one and I really just wanted to upload it as soon as I was done :)

Crisp, cool water rushed through my tangled hair and fell in jagged lines down my back, sending slight chills throughout my body. Although I would've preferred a warm shower, I was grateful to be taking one at all.

After Anakin and I finally made it to the Lurmen village, I was completely shocked that he was being truthful. The Lurmen were real creatures, and they did remember Anakin from the last time he visited this planet. It was lucky enough that we were even slightly close to their village, seeing that we could have crash landed halfway across the planet from them.

When we reached the village, Anakin was able to speak to Tee Watt Kaa, who was the leader of their colony, and his son Wag Too. They were surprised to see him so unexpectedly, considering they hadn't seen each other since the Clone Wars.

As they conversed, Anakin informed them of our unanticipated crash landing, and the events that led up to that. Tee Watt Kaa said that his people forever owe a debt to Anakin because of how he and the others saved them, and what they did for them the last time they were here. Though, he didn't forget to include that we were extremely lucky to have crash landed where we did, seeing as they were the only settlement of Lurmen present on Maridun, and actually really the only settlement at all.

Anakin failed to mention that tiny little fact to me, and I think you can guess how I felt about that. Though, putting all of that aside, I was just happy that we had finally found some help and resources in the midst of all this mess we were in.

That conversation happened a little less than 4 hours ago, and nightfall was now approaching. Tee Watt Kaa and Anakin had agreed that the next day would be the best time to go back to his ship and assess the damage and to make any needed repairs, so he granted us permission to camp at their village for as long as Anakin deemed necessary.

Immediately after that, Anakin sent a transmission to R2 saying that we were safe and we would be back at the ship tomorrow so R2 wouldn't worry. I guess it was kind of sweet of him (if you ask me).

I took a deep breath as I invited in the calmness that was this shower I was taking. The day's sweat, dirt, and stress was finally being washed away and off my body for the first time in what seemed like forever.

After I felt that this long needed rinse was finally complete, I turned off the water and grabbed a towel-like piece of fabric that lay nearby. It was made out of the tall grass that was cleaned and woven together, and somehow, in some magical way, it worked as well as a regular fabric-made towel would.

Everything in the Lurmen village was similar to what I knew back at the temple, but was different in its own little way. For starters, I was offered to take a shower in this new, washroom-like building that resembled a bathroom. The Lurmen wanted to start modernizing their village and appliances, with the thought of keeping everything true to their past in mind.

The shower was made entirely out of wood, and used clean and disinfected rain and pond water that the Lurmen stored. I was hesitant to try and use it at first, because it seemed impossible that this shower would actually function properly. They only had one of these showers in their entire village, and to be honest, I felt as if I was some kind of test subject for their new invention. Though, I was proved otherwise when I finally stepped in.
