Chapter 12, Truth

Most of the gladers are back on their feet and things are finally getting back to normal. The rain doesn't come as often as in beginning and now we gotta plan things better. It rains around every 5 days so things slowed down a lot since we lose 2 days because it rains none stop then.

Today is the rain day and most boys have a day off. Runners stay in the glade because they don't want to get sick again and tomorrow is when the greenie arrives. Good it's the day it's not raining so we can have a normal bonfire then. I sat together with Chuck and the greenie who got his name back. He's name is Thomas, but some gladers still call him greenie since the new one didn't come up yet.

I sat on a box in front of Chuck who sat in his hammock with Thomas in his hammock. Thomas is still really curious about the maze and asks a lot of questions I don't know the answer too. The soft sound of rain around the talking gladers seem calming and we got to know each other better from talking like this too.

-We can't be the only people in the maze Liz. That would be so messed up, Thomas said crossing his arms. -If I knew if there are more people I would tell you, but am not the creator so I don't know, I sighed. -But changing the subject how is it with you and Jeff? Chuck asked curiously. -Better I guess. We don't death stare each other anymore, but I still have my shift with Clint who seem more reasonable than Jeff. -I think Newt did change those shifts, Thomas said tilling his head to the side. -So? Am glad he did. -Yeah, but what if the next greenie is a girl and she hangs herself on him? -She better not. If she does she won't have arms to hang on anymore. -You can be the jealous type. -I know Newt would tell me if that girl would try things. -You're sure? Thomas asked with a risen eyebrow. -Of course I am. I trust Newt, I said confidently and I felt a pair of arm slide down my shoulders leaning on me. -You do? Newt laughed kissing my cheek and I smiled taking his hand. -Sure I do honey, I said happily and Newt tapped on my back to make me rise up and I did letting Newt sit where I did. He pulled me into his lap warping his arms around me warming kissing my shoulder. -Ugh don't get all sweet again, I just ate dinner, Thomas groaned. -No. That's actually pretty normal, Chuck said looking at Thomas. -Normal?...right yeah during my bonfire you sat like that too, Thomas said remembering it.

-Anyways. We thought you love would take care of the girl grennie if it will be one, Newt said stroking my arms making me take his hands in twining our fingers. -I feel so honoured, I said sarcasticly. -Well we handled your arrival so bloody terrible and you have enough knowledge and patience towards a greenie. No matter if it will be a girl or a shank you will give the tour to next greenie, Newt said sounding proud of it. -Congrats Liz you got promoted, Chuck laughed clapping. -Yeah I just hope they don't turn out to be a shuckface, I said resting my head on Newt's shoulder. -If you need help just ask for it. You know the rule love, Newt said smiling at me. -Yeah you know I can beat up a shank if they forget themselves, I said swinging my arms around Newt's neck. -I know, that's why you are perfect for this job, but don't tell them too much, Newt said tapping on my nose making me giggle.

-Liz come here, Fry said walking out from homestead. -Why? I asked little confused. -I got the best idea ever and need your help, Fry said excited about something. -Ok? I said still little confused rising up from Newt's lap and walked towards Fry. Newt cleared his throat making me look back and he dropped his arms. -Everytime? I asked walking back to him. -Every bloody time, Newt said opening his arms and I bended to grip Newt hoodie on the chest before kissing him passionately with tongue. Newt got little surprised flinching. He quickly catched up with me, but as he did I pulled us apart leaving him unsatisfied. -You play with bloody fire love, Newt said gripping my legs pulling closer to him. -I always did, love you, I said smirking and let go of his hoodie. I got my legs from his grip and turned around getting my ass smached. -I love you too, Newt said smirking. -Ooooh you damn shank, I said with a serious chuckle turning around at Newt and he smirked at me. -What are you gonna do love? Newt asked cocky. -You are so lucky that I love you because otherwise you would sleep outside in a hammock tonight, I said walking to Fry. -It's my room, Newt laughed. -Not anymore shank, Thomas laughed. -Yeah Liz would get you out, Chuck added and I walked into homestead with Fry.
