The heavy, metal doors slide open,  as I walked through the doorway and slid closed after I was inside. He was sitting still in a chair, his back to me. “Harry,” I began, my voice was soft and I tried to understand and listen to his side of the story. “What did you do?” I whispered.

“What are you doing here?” he asked emotionlessly, not facing me, still.

“I-I saw the news, Harry and I wanted to-”

“To what? Bitch about it like everyone else?”

“No, I just wanted an explanation, that’s all.”

“Peter Parker is freaking Spiderman. He wouldn’t give me his damn blood so I found some spider venom and used it on myself. That suit stabilized my condition and saved me.” he snapped.

“Harry look what that venom did to you, Peter was right not to give you his blood.”

“Surely the blood directly would have been different than venom, Lou.” he insisted.

“Harry, you killed people…”

“I know what I did, Louyou don’t have to remind me.” he grumbled. I walked around in front of him so he’d look at me. I decided he was only going to get angrier from that point so I changed the subject.

“Well at least you’re looking a bit healthier.”

“It comes and goes.” he informed.

“Harry, would you please look at me?” I begged him, leaning on the arm of his chair.

“You know what I did, I’m a monster, Lou. You shouldn’t have come here, I don’t want you to see me like this.”

“I don’t care what you look like, Harry, I love you.” I reasoned, moving from the arm of the chair to his lap, turning and putting my hands on his cheeks.

“I don’t deserve it. You’re too good for this, you deserve something better.” he sighed, laying his head on my chest, I put my arm around him and rubbed his back like a mother would do to her child. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

“Don’t talk like that. It doesn’t get better than you, Harry, you’re a good man and I love you, no matter what you do.” There was a long silence, neither of us said anything, we just sat there. Harry’s arms holding me tight around my waist, showing no sign letting go, his head on my chest and my head on top of his.

“Times about up, miss.” the guard said  over the intercom.

“Don’t go.” Harry pleaded. “Please don’t leave, I don’t want you to.”

“I don’t want to either but someone has to run your company.” I told him. He sighed and reluctantly released his grip on my waist so we could both stand up. He kissed me goodbye with one hand firmly on the back of my neck and one pressed gently against my cheek.

“Hurry up in there.” the guard called, knocking on the door. Both of us pulled away, giving each other sad looks.

“I love you, please com see me again.” he said, quickly kissing my softly again before looking into my eyes.

“I love you too, Harry. I’ll come back, I promise.”

“I’ll see you soon.” he said, holding onto my hands

“Yes.”

“I… I love you.”

“I love you too, Harry but I have to go, that guard’s getting his knickers in a twist and I don’t want to get either of us in trouble, now I have to go. Goodbye.”

“Don’t say goodbye, I don’t like goodbye.”

“Fine, I’ll see you later.” I said, pecking his cheek and heading to the door.

“I love you!” he called.

“I love you too!”
