Gordie had been home for about two hours. It had started drizzling the first hour in, then pouring rain in the second. Gordie hadn't even noticed the rain though, for as soon as he escaped into the privacy of his bedroom, he cried. Cried until his eyelids were swollen and he couldn't physically produce another tear.
Now the brunette boy had cozied up in his bed with a book perched in his lap. Despite rereading a page multiple times Gordie couldn't retain any of the information. A certain boy had been occupying his mind, circling his brain like a mosquito waiting to bite.

"Forget it." Gordie mumbled to himself as he gave up, closing his book and turning off his bedside light. He flopped back down into bed, wrapping up his small frame in two fuzzy blankets. The rain outside was practically a lullaby for Gordie who wasn't resisting against the sleep advancing on him.
That is until a loud pounding sound snapped Gordie awake.

...

Chris had been wandering around the castle for what seemed like ages. The downpour of rain was starting to pick up, soaking Chris to the bone. He hugged onto himself as he tried to silence his annoyingly chattery teeth.
Chris had snuck onto the castle grounds the same way he had left the last time he was here. It was nearly impossible to climb a wall in the rain. Nearly.

But now that he was here he could not remember where the hell Gordie's room was to save his life. It seemed like the castle had grown since the last time he had been there, especially in the pitch black night.

"Stop right there!" A squeaky voice screeched. Chris wouldn't have been afraid, but the voice wasn't alone. A sharp pointy object poked at the middle of Chris's back accompanying the person wielding it. He could already make an accurate assumption of what it was.

"Turn around." The voice demanded. Chris complied.
There Teddy stood, gaping at the boy in front of him. That didn't stop his eyes from looking any less menacing, but all he did was amuse Chris.

"It's you! That annoying Chambers boy that Gordie won't shut up about!" Teddy, very unfiltered Teddy, gasped. Chris's face visibly brightened at that, despite a knife being poked into his chest.

"Won't shut up about?" The blonde grinned smugly.

Teddy glared when he could vividly see Chris's ego inflate from his comment.

"I never said he was saying nice stuff about yo- shut up! Why are you here? You aren't here to murder Gordie in his sleep, are you?" Teddy nearly dropped his knife as he wiped the rainwater off his glass lenses.

You're allowed to call him by his first name?" Chris asked all too casually.
"I thought you guys weren't supposed to do that. Isn't it illegal or something dumb like that?" Chris said and pushed Teddy's knife away with his finger.

"Shut up, idiot! What are you doing here?!" Teddy snapped, pathetically straightening his back up in hopes that he'd reach to be the same height as Chris.

"I want to see Gordie." Chris smiled. His teeth gave another little chatter due to the rain now fully soaking through all his layers of clothes.

"Didn't you already see him today?" Teddy wiped the lenses of his glasses dry again.

"Well yeah... but this is important. And I can't remember which room his is. He showed me one time, but this place is so big..." Chris glanced at the castle.

"If it was so important then why did you wait until now to do it?" Teddy glared.

"Uh... well... it's a long story." Chris chuckled. Teddy didn't. He was clearly losing his patience.

"Hey how about this," Chris smiled and draped his arm over Teddy's shoulders.

"If you take me to his room right now then I won't come over here ever again. But I wanna see him just this once. Then I promise, on my mother's name, that you'll never see me again."
