Chapter 2

(Magdalene)

She watched as Ace completely ignored her. Everyone but Hannah Dent was gone. "Would you...um...like to hang out with me today?" She asked Magdalene shyly. "Sure. Your Hannah right?" Magdalene asked.

Hannah nodded and walked with Magdalene to their class.

(Hannah)

It was true that her father was Harvey Dent and Two Face, which made people shy away from her because of her and her father's two sided personality. Hannah had come up with a way to keep that side under control unless she was fighting.

But to have someone like Maggie be her friend it was a new feeling. And she started to wonder if she would be able to handle it.

"So do you like Ace?" Hannah asked, she looked over to see Maggie blush a deep shade of crimson. "No!!!"

"Equivocation!!!" Hannah said her voice loud but not loud enough for others to hear. And pointing her finger at Maggie.

Maggie blushed a shade deeper than crimson. Hannah had no words for the shade of color.

"Okay! Yes I sorta kinda like him...a lot. But he and I, our families will never be okay with us if we got together."

Hannah patted her back and walked into the classroom with her. Totally understanding that feeling.

(Ace)

He felt horrible not walking with Maggie to class, even ignoring her this morning, his heart clenched.

Ace kept glancing at the door, desperately hoping to see her walk in with a smile on her face only for him. His heart stopped when he saw her walking in with Hannah laughing about something but completely ignoring him. Even asking Hannah's table partner to change seats with her for this class period.

What have I done, what have I done, he thought over and over and over. He had all his focus on that that he completely missed the assignment.

(Maggie)

Maggie felt so bad not sitting in her usual spot by Ace. It also felt weird asking Peter (Penguin's son) to sit by Ace. But as far as he was keeping his distance she was to. Two could play this game.

"Hey Maggie you want to hang out this weekend we're all planning on going to the head criminals cause they are coming up with a plan against Batman. That finally allows us to go with our parents." Lily asked a huge smile on her face. The total opposite of this morning.

"I would like to. I have to speak to my parents first because they have been trying to stay off the Bat-brain's radar." She laughed.

"Bat-brain. Love that!" Serena squealed.

Maggie just smiled. If her father knew the things she called him behind his back. Man would he be ticked. She waved good bye and headed home. For some reason she felt like going to long way home. Which meant going behind the school.

She could feel a presence behind her but it was to late. A rough hand wrapped around her throat, forced her against the wall, and leaned against her. The person's other hand was covering her eyes leaving her completely blind and she didn't like it.

With her eyes covered her other senses heightened. She breathed in the scent, driftwood, sea water, and finally the fresh scent of man.

She listened, her breathing was light to were his is harder, deeper. Maggie knew who it was. For no one could make her feel  so safe. So wanted. So...so...loved.

"Ace," she whispered, her need to run her finger through his hair. The hand over her eyes disappeared. Ace's bright green eyes looked into her deep chocolate brown ones.

Light green hair fell in his face. She reached and brushed his hair back. It was silky and soft. And she loved it. "Don't ever change seats on me again do you understand?" He growled. Anger and hatred filled his eyes.

Maggie pulled away but his grip on her neck tightened, she gasped for air.

(Ace)

He panicked as he saw eyes roll back into her head. Gosh had he held her to hard?

(Hannah)

She heard something coming from behind the school building. She walked and saw Ace pacing back and forth. And Maggie on the ground. Hannah rushed over to Maggie thankfully she could feel a pulse and she could see Maggie coming to.

"Ugh my head. Hannah?" Maggie asked while rubbing her head.

Slowly Hannah helped her to her feet. She turned and cast an evil glare at Ace. "Do you need help getting home?" Hannah asked the dizzy Maggie. She shook her head no and started home.

Hannah nervously watched her leave. Ace was still passing back and forth. "Ace what the heck did you do. YOU COULD HAVE KILLED HER!!!"

"I know, I know. I just lost my temper the more I see of her the more I feel like I'm turning into my father."

"Do you love her?"

Ace looked at her his face grave tear streams glistened in the pale moonlight. He could speak so her mouthed the word, "Yes"

I'll be working on chapter 3 this weekend. Any ideas who Maggie should hang out with next?
