Prologue:
It was night. The crickets are chirping. The moonlight shining in to her bedroom was beautiful. However, admiring the moonlight shining into the room was not what she wanted to do right now. Alicia was having a hard time falling asleep. She couldn't stay asleep due to a dream that bothered her every night this week. It was the same but pieces of the dream were different every night and she couldn't quite put them together. One night her dream was just her standing in the forest. Another night it was her looking up into the nighttime sky. Then another night she is looking out into the forest as far she could and she's about to turn around but she wakes up every time. It was always night time and she was always in the forest looking deeper into it. She couldn't quite see anything pass the trees. That was all she could put together of the dream so far. Every time she would try to change part of the dream she would wake up. Like right now. Right now she was lying in bed trying to fall asleep.
She felt as if she was about to fall asleep when her room seem to brighten. Perhaps she did fall asleep. This light seems to be heavenly. It was too heavenly for this family. Her parents didn’t believe in any of that. They did as they choose. Whether it was leaving her home alone or home with her uncle Michael and going to the bars and coming home drunk.
Coming out of her thoughts she had to blink a couple times to get a clear view of her room. A mist was coming in her room. Now she knew she was definitely dreaming. However, this didn’t happen in the other dreams she’s had.
“Alicia”
Who was that? She thought. She started looking around her room. The mist was still slowly coming in.
“Alicia. Alicia I’m sorry”
Alicia got out of her bed and walked to the double window doors. She opened the windows and the mist flooded in. A slender woman was standing outside her room. She was wearing a red dress. It looked like the ones in her fairytale books. “Who are you?” she asked.
“Alicia. I’m sorry Alicia. You are chosen to be the one.”
“The one, the one of what? Who are you? Is this a dream?”
“You are important to the prophecy. The tyrant must be stopped. I’m sorry I didn’t want this for you.” The slender woman started to fade away along with the mist.
“No wait what prophecy? What’s a tyrant? Who are you? Why am I important?”
“His reign will end; the one will die to protect the race. The way of the Phoenix. I’m sorry Alicia forgive me. I didn’t want this for you but it must come to pass. Goodbye Alicia until we meet again in the Mist.
She tried to run towards her but she was gone. She slowly turned around and went back to her room. She was really tired now, but she had so many questions. She lay in bed and tried to think about what the lady said. However, she was too tired to focus and fell asleep
