Chapter 3

"Where am I" Alicia asked out loud. She noticed she was outside in a full forest. Any other day she would have said it was beautiful, but it was night time. The moonlight pierced through the small holes of the tree tops. Where Alicia was standing moonlight shined all around her. It was like she was emitting her own light. She felt like she was as bright as the moon itself. Maybe that was why she could see everything around her. The leaves on the trees she could see as if it was day. The lightning bugs that were far from her, somehow she could see them as if they were right in front of her

"You're in my family's forest my love." She went to turn around but the voice stopped her. He had walked behind her and wrapped his arms around her. He bent his head down and kissed her on her bate shoulder. Before she could react to pull away, he lightly bit her and a moan left her lips

"You like that my darling?" He asked with passion in his voice. Alicia felt her head nod. He moved the rest of her hair away from her right shoulder and started to kiss her neck repeatedly. Then Alicia felt his mouth open and he sank, what felt like, fangs into her neck.

Alicia woke up in a rush. She was drenched in sweat. "Holy crap! What kind of dream was that" She said out loud. She turned to the night stand and switched the lamp on. She grabbed her phone and checked the time. It was only 3:00am "Oh my goodness its 3 o' clock in the morning! That was a bazaar dream." Absentmindedly, Alicia touched her neck. She felt nothing there. "Did a man bite me?" She asked still in shock. Her mind was a haze. "I can't think right. My mind is still sleepy." She looked towards the little black bird and saw he was still sleeping on her window sill. She hadn't dreamed about that forest in a while. She shook her head and tried to still her mind. She turned off the light and tried to fall asleep again. Hopefully, it would be a normal dreamless sleep.

There was a loud noise going off in Alicia's room. She turned over to her left side and reached for her alarm clock. After a few tries of missing the clock and hit bare wood she reached over one last time and managed to turn the stupid thing off. She sat up in bed and rubbed her eyes. She looked around the room. The bird was awake and watching her. "Well good morning little one." She blanked her eyes to get some of the morning grogginess to go away. The world looking clearer now, she got out of bed and went to the bird. "You know I don't know if you have a name but I think you deserve one. I'll think of one while I get ready. Ok? You will have a name before the end of the day". She said to the bird with a smile. She walked away and started getting ready for another work day.

While a few customers came and went Alicia was getting ready to go out for lunch when it got dark out and rain began to come down. "Well I guess I'm staying home for lunch." She was about to walk upstairs when she heard the door ring. She turned to see who walked in. It was a man. He was tall and had dark hair. There were water droplets running of his hair and coat. So much for lunch she thought to herself. "How may I help you?" she asked while walking to the door he came in through.

He didn't answer right away. He was looking around the store with his eyes. It was like he was scrutinizing her clothes with his eyes. While she stood there waiting for a response he finally answered. "Yes my aunt told me to look for a dress for her. She recommended me come here first. I don't know why. She doesn't even leave the house." Standing like a fool all she could say was oh. He then actually focuses his attention on her and it looked like he was surprise. The shock on his face didn't last long however, he went back to staring at anything but her.

"Oh well. I'm glad you still came by. Is there anything in particular that she's looking for?" She asked. He then began to walk around and look at the mannequin holding her dresses.

"She wants something black. She likes red, but not too much." He then turned to the white dress that Alicia was just taking pictures of the other day. "Too bad this isn't black she would love this, maybe in a sweet heart A-line silhouette." He stood there just staring at it.

"Well," She started. She swallowed hard. "I take requests."

He turned around and quickly looked at me then looked away. "Ah yes that would solve my problem. Then I could just go home away from the," he paused and looked outside. "Weather" he continued. Alicia glanced outside it was still raining outside but the sun was trying to peep through.

"Ok well let me get your name and her measurements. I can start right away." She went to go to the front desk but he handed her a white piece of paper before she took one step.

"My name is David and these are her measurements. She wrote them down for you. There is also her phone number on there for when you are done. Just call in three days." Three days, she thought, that's how long the note said. "However, no later than that the ball is the day after." as he handed her the paper she touched his fingers and an electric shock went through her.

"Whoa! What was that." She looked at her hand then looked at him. She knows that carpets can create friction, but there were no carpets in this floor. They were all tile.

He backed up away from her. "I should go." She watched him leave in a flash. She was still holding the paper in her hand when he left. Then after a few minutes of still standing there in shock, she notices she didn't hear the rain anymore.

The sun had just set when Alicia was done closing her shop. The Girlz had left around 5:30. She had gotten done with the drawing of her dress order she got from David. She picked out the fabrics and started working hard on finishing it in 3 days. She was about to go to her apartment and make dinner when Alicia heard a woman's scream. The scream made her jump since it was so quiet.

Alicia ran to the front door of her shop and went out to the sidewalk. Then she heard a noise across the street. So she ran towards the noise and an alley is where it lead her to. The alley was darker than the sidewalk due to the street light being just out of reach. It also smelled horrible. Alicia notice a few torn trash bags on the ground, which could be causing the horrible stench. However, one bag was out of place. it was directly in the walkway, as if someone tripped over them. As Alicia continued forward she saw a red heel. "Oh my god!" Alicia whispered. It wasn't a red heel, it was an ivory color heel with blood on it. She heard a shuffling noise ahead of her which made Alicia's head snap up from looking at the heel. Then she saw a foot where the heel should be. A shadow was looming over the woman's body. Her heart beat quicken. Without having to check the whole body Alicia could tell she was dead and the shadow near Alicia was her murderer. Then she notice the shadow was moving towards her. "Stay away from me!" She yelled as Alicia backed away, nearly missing the bloody heel. Alicia didn't know who it was, but she needed to get out of here now.

Then Alicia notice the shadows mouth was moving, but no noise came out. At least no noise she could hear. Then a males voice started to stutter out. "I'm not..." he paused. "I didn't do." He looked down at the woman's body. He looked grief stricken.

"Do I know you?" Alicia asked. He looked familiar to her. She crept a little further to try and see his face. The shadow tried to move closer to Alicia". Stay away from me!" That gave her the strength to run. She ran straight to her shop and locked the door. Then she turned off the lights. Alicia didn't stop there. She ran all the way upstairs into her apartment. Alicia shut and locked that door as well. She was so scared she held back her own scream afraid he would hear her and come find her.

That poor girl. That was someone's daughter, mother or sister. He had killed her. How could a person do that?
Her legs started to hurt. Alicia looked down to notice she was crouched in front of her door still. So she stood up. Alicia was shaking when she got up. She quickly went to her bed to settle her self down. She was trying to think about what just happened to her when she passed out cold on her bed.
