When I told Hunter that I was going to apply for the position of a waitress at Freddy’s he became completely ecstatic. He was mainly focused on seeing the place once again and wondering how it’s been all this time. I knew it was going to be disgusting and torn up from all the abuse it has gotten from the little kids all these years. I just hoped I wasn’t going to have to babysit a bunch of disease-ridden, little brats for the sake of this job.

The very next day, after my dad found the ad, I drove to Freddy’s after school. It pretty much looked the same on the outside as I remembered it. There may have been a few scratches and fading on the outside décor, but nothing really noticeable. When I walked in they didn’t seem too busy that day. There may have been only three families the most having pizza at certain tables. I caught sight of the animatronics on stage in the back as I made my way to the front counter. A woman with a Freddy Fazbear smock and pinwheel hat stared at me from the counter with a rather unnecessary fake grin. She greeted me with an overly-cheery voice:

“Hello! How are you today Miss? What can I do for you?” She exclaimed while retaining the creepy smile.

“Oh, I’m doing well. I’m here for an application for the waitress position.”

“Oh! Yes, I suppose you saw our ad in the newspaper yesterday!”

“Yes I did. I just thought it might be a decent job for me because I used to come here all the time with my family when I was you…” And before I could finish my sentence she somehow managed to cut me off.

“Oh super!” She interrupted while reaching under the counter to get an application for me attached to a clipboard and a pen.

She handed it to me with her giant teeth still peering through gleaming at me. I gave a slight half-smile as I took the clipboard and sat down in a chair towards the entrance. While I was focused on filling out all my information in the application, I could hear the animatronics performing softly in the background with their sweet, soothing music for the children. The whole time whenever I looked up I couldn’t help but notice that the woman at the counter was still staring at me with her uneasy, unsettling grin. This not only freaked me out, but it made me so uncomfortable to the point where I just wanted to run out as fast as I could. As badly as I wanted to do this, I just sat there and continued filling out the application while trying not to even get a glimpse of her horrible face. When I was reaching the end of filling out my required information, I got startled when I heard a loud boom come from the dining room. I turned to see what had happened and noticed that the animatronic Bonnie seemed to have malfunctioned. He had smoke seeping through his purple fur and up towards the stage lights. Some of the little kids from the few families got so scared from it and started to cry. The parents had to hold their toddlers to keep them from exploding with tears as they watched their favorite bunny about to go up in flames. Several male employees from the back came running out to try to repair the damage that occurred to poor Bonnie. One even had a fire extinguisher ready just in case. While witnessing all this go down I couldn’t help but notice the woman at the counter barely moved as if this was a daily occurrence. All she had to say about it was:

“Oh no! What a shame that this would happen to our pal bun-bun. I’m absolutely sure he’ll be just fine though!” She exclaimed while glancing back at me with her cheesy look.

I quickly wrapped up completing my paperwork and handed it to her in a split-second.

“Thank you Miss. I certainly hope you get the job! That way we could be work buddies!” She basically yelled while staring at me with overzealous eyes.

Completely terrified of that possibility, I quickly said my goodbyes and stormed out of that madhouse. While I continued to walk to my car I couldn’t help but overhear more dramatic activity taking place within Freddy’s. It made me turn around to listen to male employees yelling and shouting to each other followed by little kids’ screams from within. This whole experience definitely made me question whether this was a good idea or not. During the drive home my mind was racing a mile a second. I couldn’t decide whether I really wanted to do this or if I just need a job. Out of the two reasons there was a third that stood out the most, do it for my Foxy!
